Maybe he watched "Jet Li's Matrix" ... er, sorry, THE ONE ... a few too many times. Can't you just see Future-Rikk jumping across rooftoops pursuing a very confused AU Rikk?
Yeah, yeah, I know he isn't the kind of guy to want to destroy his own alternate selves, but it's funny to think about. ^^;
Or maybe ANOTHER alternate self, from a universe where Rikk believes sci-fi is the work of the devil, is trying to go through and destroy HIS alternate selves! Huh? Huh? It's possible!
W'll ... it IS ...
Kinda ...
Er ...
I'm gonna go back to watching FLUBBER now.

I went back and looked at that week, and I noticed a few things.
From January 18th:
Thack: You're from the future, arent you? ...
Mysterious, unidentified gunman: A future soon to be the ONLY future.
So, by killing Rick, Thack, and the president, he is ensuring the future led by the General? If this is the case, then I suspect that it involved whatever it was that Kev and Rumy were supposed to do if Rick and Thack failed. This leads me to believe then that The General is quite likely Rumy.
Of course I'm probably wrong, but there's another mystery here. We never see the gunman's face. Knowing T's subtlety, that has to be important, so the gunman must also be someone we know, but who?

Very astute TLA (just a guess you don't mind that nick

), I always love it when people quote things I've forgotten and I can avoid reading the whole archives over again.
I have a new idea. The general could be someone completely unrelated to the Fans! Picture this: Thack is succesful in killing fandom (perhaps through Ferd) but the FIB eventually takes him out. If Ferd had become President then I can see the US becoming a bit more right-wing-southern-baptist stereotype. I can see that snowballing through a few different elections later and creating a perfect environment for the General to take power. Once she was able to visit another dimension she hoped to talk to her own analogy there and strike trade deals but came to found out that the Skiffy friendly were in control and that there was no hope them getting along so she decided to makes sure all futures led to hers. That way she might also be obsessive about being the TRUE leader of the world (maybe some geek taunted her that there'd always be an A/U where she WASN'T in control).
Perhaps her world was put through a horrible fans-are-slans type war that began as far back as Skiffy. Maybe the side of Fandom turned evil (or was responsible for creating something horrible like Skynet) and a long and bloody war was fought. Maybe she is travelling to other dimensions to make sure they don't have to go through that. Hmmmm..... a possibility of the General being a grim kind of good? Interesting.......
