You know, if the school year just started, then the FANS! must be coming up pretty quickly on ... September Eleventh. It would be in most everyone's best interests if they could forget their petty jealousies (Shanna!) and just be happy for what and who they have (Will!). I know someone who did a number of dirty, underhanded tricks to break up a couple a few years ago -- not only did he not get the girl, but he was so embarrassed for breaking them up that he stopped going to club meetings just to avoid either of them! Shanna's on the road to disaster, I'm telling you. Will wouldn't thank her for assuming he didn't have the guts to break up with Jackie himself.

--GB

"I like swords. They're shiny."
*Sigh*... as much as it may displease some of you, fellow readers and fans of this wonderful comic, I must say that what Shanna is doing is not only justifiable, but also quite dangerous because of the consequences it can have. First of all, She is in love with an already "compromised" man. But, please notice that Will is still confused and VERY unsure of his relationship with Union Jackie. As already stated in the previous posts, probably Will won't be too happy on Shanna's attempt to break them appart, but I believe that what Shanna is doing is putting her heart at stake for a chance at happiness. Probably many of us have been in love with someone but were too shy to tell her (him if you're a girl), until it was too late and she/he was already involved with someone else. Now, there are two choices: you love her/him so much that you let her/him go with the other guy/girl and let them live happily ever after while you mourn your lost love (the noble yet cowardly way), or you throw aside all your fears and try to do everything to make her/him realize your feelings towards her/him and put your heart at stake for a single chance at finding happiness with that special girl/guy (the selfish yet more risky way). Now, I must say that even through many of us believe Shanna IS doing wrong trying to split up Will and Jackie (yes, me included though I'm trying to defend her), it is her right to do so because we all deserve a chance in love, and she has to be sure if what she feels for Will could be shared with him someday. I believe Shannais putting too much at risk, because if Will rejects her, she will be utterly devastated... after all, what she is gambling is her heart. So, it pretty much resumes the situation. I personally would like things to work out for Shanna, since I believe Will won't stick with Jackie too long due to his inner debate between being a gentleman and pervert (believe me, it is a hard and difficult fight when your moral ideals crash with your prime instincts, so I can somehow understand how Will feels about Jackie), but most importantly, because he isn't too sure if he loves her or only lusts after her. Anyway, either way there will be someone sad and lonely... unless a fourth player steps in **cough* *cough* Stu! *cough* and manages to "Conquer Britain" (
I know, I know... i couldn't help it!!). This is certainly a wild guess, probably not a good idea taking into account that I don't feel Stu is a nice guy, but who knows... appearances can be deceiving, but still... so please feel free to comment on this!!
[This message has been edited by Vargas (edited 12-04-2001).]

See what I think is funny, and almost Shakespearian, is that I am positive Jackie doesn't see Will in any other way than a big brother, or as she suggested, a father figure. The only thing we have to suggest otherwise are Will's thought balloons from the LOTR adventure, which only reflected what HE was feeling, not what she was actually doing. He was projecting his feelings on to her. Something I am sure we all have done with a person we liked: "AH! He/she bumped into me. I bet he/she did on purpose so I could feel her/his ass!" Some girls are just affectionate, and I am sure Jackie is one of them.
I figure that just letting Jackie tell Will this would do more than Shanna's Machiavellian tactics could, but Shanna has no way of knowing this, so she does what she must.
This all will of course end in disaster, I really don't see any other way for it to go.
And I tell you, never have I wanted to step inside a comic and bang some heads together than with this storyline.
