I'm definitely not trying to slag on anyone's art here - I appreciate both Jason's and Maritza's styles of drawing. But, for me, it's been really fascinating to see how certain characters from one strip look in the other strip. For instance, the way Maritza draws Katherine - honestly, it's like a revelation about the character. I think about Kath in a whole different way now. On the flip side of the coin, I think Roger makes a great Fan. Am I insane, or has anyone else noticed anything like this?
Ok, so this isn't coming out in a very eloquent manner. I'm not feeling particularly articulate today. Sorry. I'll shut up now. :|
But before I do... I just wanna say, hey T, hey Greg. It's Liz. Long time no see. I feel like a complete loser 'cause it's taken me so long to find my way to this board (especially since I'm such a boarding fiend). I've been lurking here for about a week now, and I guess I'll go back to lurking, since I apparently don't have much to contribute to the conversation. Heh.

T, you can't just use people like that. It's not all about YOU, man. Wait, this is your comic. I guess it is all about you.
I am not drunk!

Noooooo! Don't lurk away, spritesprite! We loooooooove yoooooooou! Okay, I'm exagerating, but we would like to learn to love you.
I understand what you mean about the fans looking differently in the strips. One of Tim's finest moments for me in this crossover was the frame where he's trying to look at both Rumy and Marsha at once. It was the most hillarious thing I've ever seen, but it also.. I dunno.. gave me a little tinge. Like I was getting to see a whole new side of Tim. Marvelous stuff. Truely marvelous.
On the other hand, I think Mike is looking good under Jason's hands. Reaaaaal good. Real real.. oh my lord... what am I saying?? I'm all about WILL, not Mike! Stay away from me tentacle boy!
-Wish

LIZ!!!
Good to HEAR from ya again!
I'm very, very pleased with the way the art's turned out here. Maritza has been reading FANS for a while and has a very good sense of the characters, physically and mentally. Jason was newer to the CRFH guys when we started, but we had learned from our mistakes on KNIGHTS OF THE DINNER TABLE/FAANS... and *I* was a raving lunatic fan of CRFH, so I could bring him up to speed.
Yeah, hang around, Liz. We can use you on this board...

Greg drunk? That's something I'd be interested to see... Wait... how much alcohol did you have in you on your last birthday?
Use me? Uhm... ok, I guess...
Anyway...
Wish - funny you should mention that scene with Tim. I love that one, too! I would've mentioned it in my first post, but I figured I'd babbled on long enough. Man, that expression on his face...
[This message has been edited by spitesprite (edited 08-25-2001).]

<g> Just to be contrary I'll tell you about the ones I *don't* like... (hope I leave here alive)
I don't like the way Maritza draws Rumy at all, I'm afraid... For some reason it doesn't seem to me to capture her well at all...
And from the Fans's side, I'm not pleased (weirdly enough) with the way *Dave* is drawn. I suppose this one is because I can't distinguish him easily from Rikk except by context, and I don't like that confusion; even when it's a momentary one.
Becoming now more positive, I *love* the way Mike and especially Margaret are drawn also. Marsha and April are also very cute...
And from Maritza's side I don't really have a favourite but I think I most like the way she draws Rikk. Kath and Shanna too...

Hey, Aris Katsaris, I actually agree with you about Rumy. I'm also not sure Shanna made the transition from Fan to Roomie quite as elegantly as some. Not that either of them look bad, there's just a little something missing, I think. Those two are my favorite Fans, tho', so I guess I am biased.
And I have to admit that I don't really like Margaret as a Fan. Again, there's just that little something missing, IMO. Not that I would really be much of an authority on that - I'm still nowhere near through with the CRFH archives... Also, Marsha. Please don't hurt me for saying this, anybody, but I don't think she's quite cute enough, as a Fan. Just me, I guess.
Back to the positives, tho' - I think April fits in really well as a Fan. And Rikk as a Roomie - that whole Dave v. Rikk scene keeps popping up in my mind. That rocked.
------------------
