Will: Babe Magnet
Okay, it's now offical. Will is a certified babe magnet. Through the many long months, we have watched him conquer heart after heart with his warmth, his kind nature, his rugged good looks, and his bitchin' RP skillz. The man is SMOKING, people. The list of the fallen is long:
Kathrine - she could have been queen of the world, but when she put The Man in danger, she gave it up (The only woman we've seen to have actually dumped Will. That takes some kind of inhuman strength!); Sara - This Diva of the Dice couldn't help but succumb to Will's incredible Charisma stats. Circumstance has parted them, but who knows what the future may hold? April - Some might say that she was under the influence of blue mushrooms, but I say NO! She was under the influence of The Magic of Will, baby! Yeah! Shanna - This lady has been holding out for a long time, but soon, soon she too will be forced to admit that Will is the main constellation in her night sky. No one can resist the Willinator. Solid.
What other hearts claim William the Conqueror in the future? Only the Shadow knows.
-Wish

Are you sure that it is Will? If it is, We will be seeing some severe issues between Katherine and Shanna. It could even break up their friendship and maybe even break up the group. Katherine will not give up Will that easily and Shanna seems just as stubborn. Katherine is just the type to try to get the group to side with her to kick Shanna out. If Rikk can't keep them in line, this could be trouble.
In a response to Wish on her other thread, about gloating forever, I suggest that the real target of Shanna's lust might be someone else. I could be wrong, but I read today's comic of Shanna wondering if she was jealous of not just Will and April (implying she was attracted to Will) but also Kath and Mike (thus a more general "I'm not in a couple"-kind of jealousy).
On the other hand, who am I to argue with Will being a babe-magnet?
--Tuscahoma

well, this now fits into MY master plan.
I will send my minions to go and kidnap Will. I will analyze his aura and patterns to determine what makes him a 'babe magnet'. Then I will release him with a terrible headache, the wrong pair of pants, and $7,294 in his wallet, as well as forged recipts from the Bally's Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, NJ, to make it seem like he went and had a really great weekend, even if he did get rather smashed.
Then I will duplicate his babe-magnet aura in MYSELF! Then NO ONE will be able to stand against me and my army of five-year-olds, puppies and kittens! I will rule the world!!!
MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! And I will be a benevolent ruler and make all comic creators who can publish more than three times a week on the web or at least once a month in proper comic book format exempt from all federal income tax for the good of the nation.
All boy bands and teen singing divas, however, will immediately go into the 90% tax bracket unless they prove their own talent by writing an entire album themselves.
I think that's a good start to world rulership, don't you?

(As the RealWillErixon) Thanks, Wish!

Of course, I'm not quite as physically fit as Will, and I don't have the same tendency to go badass -- I prefer to talk through disputes, and/or throw Pokemon at the problem until it gives up in disgust ...

As for Katherine having superhuman strength? *poke*
Well, according to what I remember from T, way way back when Fans issue number One originally came out, was that none of the Fans (with one notable exception being Tim) was modeled on any one skiffy member. The rest are all amalgamates of you, me, and pretty much everyone that is or was in Skiffy at some point.

Yeah, but isn't it a coincidence that the largest fella in the club happens to be blonde, and has a costume for every occasion? ^_~ Besides which, T isn't the artist -- I'm sure that no matter whom those twins from the first issue were modeled after, the twins in Skiffy ended up being the visual representations. I understand Jason came by to observe us at some point, which is probably when he noticed there were some people that fit the characters described to him. There's no real question as to who Strudenberry was, or Katherine, or Tim, even (maybe) the same with Shanna. Rikk is a mystery, as there was nobody so normal-looking in the club when the comic began, but then, he does tend to look like Archie ... but I can even see where the model for Alisin came from.

The one I'm wondering about is Guth, who fits the stereotypical "nerd" description, yet whose physical characteristics fit nobody in the club "to a T." (Sorry, the pun couldn't be helped)

Of course, one may argue that Billsberg College doesn't exist, and neither does the University Center, or the perfect to the detail of the track-lighting room in which the club holds its meetings. But the same argument can be applied to a philosophical debate over the nature of existence! ^_~ Like I said before, I'm not a perfect Will. I don't get physically violent, and I never dated Katherine, and I don't inject myself with anything to complete a costume, and most importantly, my water gun is frickin' HUGE. ::sweetly:: But D.O., I am so Will. With good swords, not that machete garbage.

Actually, Jason has a twin himself.
And as for Alisin, the character most closely modelled after one person -- you've never met the model, G.B. I don't think you've met the physical model for Katherine either, but then again, neither had Jason when he did his character designs for her.
The Billberg campus and club meeting room are directly modelled after the William and Mary Campus, but the people aren't.
Greg
In response to the harem discussion:
It seems like if loyalty is that big an issue, it's time to rething the screening process for pool boys.
Q: Which charachter in the cross-over comic would make the best pool-boy?
(note the term 'boy' is used in the non-gender-speciffic sense, much in the way a chief lighting engineer for a movie can be a woman and still called the 'best boy')

To lay the argument to rest, I'd say you were right. But when I was first introduced to FANS!, a friend handed me the promo sheet from the first comic, with a glamour shot of of Clara Strudenberry. This friend, let's call her "A" for simplicity, claimed that Strudenberry was based on her -- I disagreed, but then I looked at the eyes, the mouth, the general shape of the face, and looked up, where "A" had the exact look on her face. It was an eerily perfect match. As for Alisin, if I haven't met the model, then I have to believe she was based on more than one person, exclusively. And from what T has told the club of the origins of KaTheine, then yes, I have met both the women who were the basis for that character.

And Will is a dumbass for letting a beautiful blonde just walk away like that, moreso for pushing her out ...

--GB

"Oops! I try not to play the "this person is that person" game too much. It keeps characters from developing well.
Tim and Katherine had real-life inspirations, but quickly grew to do things that their "parents" never would. Greg tells me that Alisin is quite like the girl she was named for, but I don't really know that girl too well.
Jason never met "A," and his original drawing of the 20something Clara was based on this description:
"twentysomething, and rather zaftig,"
a description which matches "A..." but also at least 30% of all women in webcomics, wouldn't you say?

Nope. Jason drew Alisin originally, way back in the dead tree era.
And all goths look alike. The government's been putting mutagens in their mascara to create a completely interchangeable workforce for projects like terraforming Mars, beating the commies, and drilling caribou for oil. I thought you knew.
There's a picture of a bunch of the melanin-challenged ladies of Keenspot/Keenspace called "The Usual Goth-chicks" (drawn by Selena Ulrich if I remember right). I found it through the CCS site.
Maccabee
------------------

Not just because I want to keep the subject "Will: Babe Magnet" at the top of the list, of course ...

"Tim and Katherine had real-life inspirations, but quickly grew to do things that their "parents" never would"

I have to agree ... Tim is far more endearing. And I never knew either of Katherine's "parents" to be so well-restrained, if someone challenged their opinions/authority. Now, lemme ask, why was Will standing at the front of the room, when this crossover began? Was he, perhaps, a major club officer? Vice President or Secretariat, or somesuch? I only ask because I've spent the last two years at the front of the room as an officer ...

Parallelly yours,
--GB

"Well, I'll ride bitch, but there's no way I'm being a butt-buddy to the armrest, again!"
