In case you haven't read the CRFH!!! archives, blue mushrooms made their appearance in the Mushroomies From Hell storyline. It's a mushrooom so powerful that it's literally hallucinagenic to the touch. For the full effect, read Mushroomies in the CRFH archive.

Yes, touch the blue mushroom. Go ahead, it won't bite! You'll just think it did! You'll also think that Pinkerton is an ice giant with the power to bury you in an avalanche!

They're there, but they aren't conscious. And in the CRFH example, they heard what the non-stoned people were saying the exact same way and saw everything pretty much the same except that they saw an entirely different reality.
In this strip though, there are quite a few people who're out cold that are now up and saying stuff...
Perhaps this combination of ingrediants is a lot stronger and that could be it. But, there's a significant differance as it stands...

Is that Dave or Rikk? (uh-oh, the confusion begins... )

Dave or Rikk? Look for the cowlick! Rikk has it!

My personal opinion is that the image on Fans is just a viewable blue mushroom download. I think THAT'S why none of it made sense. See, there's actually 2 weeks of strips that we all missed between this and the earlier ones. See, this page would make sense if you look at the promo image. That still doesn't explain why Mike would want to run away crying though.

.............look at the background of the last Roomies frame today. Swirlies? Look closer. It looks kind of........furrie?
Why?

Well, the background in CRFH is goofy because that's what Mike and Shanna began seeing as the hallucinating started. It generally evolves from general bizarreness into an imaginary world.
All of the previously unconscious characters currently standing with Mike, Shanna and Kath (Margaret, April, Will, Dave) probably recovered from their fighting fairly quickly. Margaret just needed to be untied. All April received was a bonk on the head. Will can take a heck of a lot of damage and was never actually seen hitting the floor. Dave has proven himself to have world-class stamina and probably got up not long after he was down.
The others (Marsha, Roger, Alisin, Rikk, Rumy...) are either unconscious or in another part of the room. Chances are they're either having a group hallucination along the same lines (ice giant) or are seeing Pinkerton as something different, but just as weird.

Cool!!!!
Consensual reality mindgames with a mad man and a bunch of people who were trying to maim each other a few moments ago!
I really, really like this story now!
(DFG passes around popcorn and munchies.)
Take Care
DFG
P.S. He he, Damonk's characters from Framed! could waltz through wearing electric purple tutu's and still not be noticed.

What I'm curious about is why they're all there...
Even the day dreams induced in the CRFH hallucenations only included the people who were actually there in reality. But this one seems to disregard the rules of reality moreso than that example...

Well, they could be complete hallucinations. Will could be an illusion, they only believe Will's there.

My question is this. Pinkerton was caught in the mushroom-morphine cloud too. If he is going to bring the fans in, why did he not protect himself from the cloud itself? Also why the split between the groups? Why not put them together instead of two groups in two distinct situations. I also like the match-ups as well as Alison's new look. This is cool!

One might surmise that Pinkerton has already been under the influence of so many drugs (thanks to Alisin), that the Blue Mushroom juice is just walking down a slightly different path for him; different scenery, same trip. He simply may not care.
--Tuscahoma

But Marsha's in both "scenerios" (classroom and blizzard) at the same time. Does that mean she really has two souls instead of one?
And was that Roger's girlfriend Diana I saw in that one strip?

Akkk, should've put a little "thought balloon" around it or something...
That's a flashback. Shanna's remembering the time around when Mike and Kath got together.
And yep, that's Diana in the other strip.
[This message has been edited by T Campbell (edited 08-13-2001).]

She's recalling the 'history' between Kath and Mike that never really happened. Marsha just happened to be part of the memory. At least, that's how I'm reading it.
-Wish
