What's happening in the last panel of today's strip [Where Rikk is talking to Will]? Are the rest of the Fans 'porting to he FiB base, or is the panel just a creative way of showing Rikk's communication with Will?

Actually, I have no idea what is going on in that last panel.

Wait, they probably are teleporting. See how the alleyway is kind of fading out and being replaced with where Will is? Still, a pretty confusing panel I admit.
Extra Note 1: The Fans aren't in the greatest battle formation I have ever seen.
Extra Note 2: Either you don't have to go through target practice to be a guard in the FIB, or he likes to make people dance.

No, no, no, you're forgetting the Real Simple Explanation. Shanna is Frigging Loony Tunes! In a comic, no one can hit the Crazy Person with a gun, bow, or other projectile weapon. They can walk through the midst of a hailstorm of bullets unharmed. They're protected by the Universal Law of Comicdom, you know, the same one that protects a sleepwalker from harm, such as not falling off of a skyscraper under construction. The only way to engage said Crazy Person is in hand-to-hand, and even then you are at a significant disadvantage.
Of course, this doesn't protect the rest of the Fans.
--Tuscahoma
p.s. Additional rational reason, maybe the guard is a rookie and is still shaken by almost being shot at by Shanna. Remember the movie Unforgiven? Clint Eastwood's character, when drunk, wasn't the fastest draw, just the one who kept his cool the best.
[This message has been edited by Tuscahoma (edited 06-01-2001).]

Rikk's talking to all of them. As per Jones's instructions, they're being "brought in," teleported into F.I.B. HQ. The panel starts in the alley, moves to shimmer-space, and ends up in the Unconscious Collective as you read from left to right.
A future version of this strip will make this a bit clearer...

Of course, the only sure-fire way to kill a crazy cartoon character is with a piercing weapon. Just make sure it doesn't go through through the armpit area. You could probably choke one to death using a wire or something to that extent, but it could take hours with them doing that wacky green large head thing.
[This message has been edited by Doublespeak (edited 06-01-2001).]

One-handed automatic weapons pull up and to the right (or is it the left? my direction sense sucks -- I'm almost as bad as T), so when firing you'll often deliberately aim low and to the side and "walk" your fire into the target. Not to say Random guard 655321 didn't overdo it...
Greg
------------------

Ah, its the Hollywood duplicator, used for getting scriptwriters out of awkward corners. Is that the thing they used to put - er - comfort openings in Star Trek uniforms? Blazing Saddles was great, but my favorite Mel Brooks movies are still The Producers (I've got to figure out a way to score tickets for the stage version -- oh, and get to New York so I can use 'em) and his remake of To Be Or Not To Be. I liked it better than the original, but I'm not a big Jack Benny fan.
Greg
------------------
