So I'm sitting here at 2 am EST, hitting re-load again and again and thinking... 'Has someone fallen asleep at the wheel over at Fans! Central?' If the upload time has changed, that's cool.. but it would be nice if we knew for sure so some of us (okay, maybe just ME ) could get some sleep instead of hoping that tomorrow's page will be up in 'just 15 more minutes...'
-Wish

You and me both, wish sis. Get some shuteye...you don't want to see little Funky Winkerbeans wander on and off the screen like I will see in about 10 minutes more screen usage.
We've been spoiled with it always uploading at midnight EST. I'll admit that.

I'm glad to hear that it was all a mistake isobel. I'm particularily glad that I greeted you before hand and restrained myself in my actual reply. I was honest in my "sarcastic smiley" post. I am glad to have you on our board.
I hope that I didn't let any of my anger seep through on my response. I was hoping that you were a nice person whose message just made you look bad.
Again, good to have you here and I accept your apology.
PS
I need a gritted teeth smiley for when you are frustrated but polite.
------------------

Hey Isobel and welcome to Fans! Take my word for it, you will like it here, and no worries, Czhort has it down; the temptress that is the message board, irc etc., can make you say things you never normally would say with the spoken word. I did a report on this back in the day, and besides the fact that no one can punch you in the face, another reason I learned is that people tend not to think of others online, as real human beings, with real feelings. Like Czhort's example, you didnt cut off a little old lady with a heart condition, you cut off a car. Enough time on here, and if you watch yourself that shouldn't be a problem. These rules don

I hate to nitpick, but the Keenspace snafu doesn't seem to be 100% fixed. Monday's page is showing Sunday's date, and today's page is appearing twice (Monday and today).
Sorry T.

Thanks T. I didn't mean to hassle you. Once again you've impressed me with your detication to regular updating. (Not too many web comic writers/artists who'd stay up to post the update to the boards at about 3:30 am EST!) And now that I've seen it, I'm sure that this new storyline is going to cause great amounts of flurried posting all across the board. I can already hear the wondering whispers swelling across the nation: Guth, Guth, Guth, Guth.....
-Wish

*Wish giggles helplessly.*
You've got me there, Czhorat. Not that I've much room to talk.. I think I did an entire top five list with the wrong spelling before someone pointed out that there's no slogging 'N' in 'Guth.'
-Wish
Watch out! I've got a dictionary and I've NO idea how to use it!

hello, folks. i'd like to apoligize for what i wrote yesterday. i really don't know why i said all that, except that i've been having a really bad few weeks & i just snapped at somebody. tom, i'd like to apoligize personally to you, and i promise that i will never do anything of the like again. i'm shocked i did, really. it's interesting- i would never dream of being that rude to someone if i were talking to them personally, but here as a disembodied pen i just walloped all over tom with no provocation. i'm trying to understand it myself, just as much as i feel the need to apoligize. thank you all for being so polite about it. i am really sorry.
*a cowed isobel*

All of us have bad days/weeks/months/years, and many of us say things that we shouldn't as a result. I've always been fascinated with the differences between online interactions and face-to-face interactions.
I've spent a great deal of time online, and think it's wonderful in many ways. One of the nicest things is that not seeing what someone looks like makes it easier to judge them on more important criteria. If you don't look at the "FiB Dossier" thread, you'd have very little idea who anybody here really is.
The sad thing is that we also lose the ability to read body language, tone of voice, and just the ability to look into someone's eyes when we talk to them. It perhaps shouldn't make a difference, but it does. I don't see it as being all that different than the reason someone in a car will cut you off even if he'd never DREAM of pushing ahead of you in person.
Now go to another thread and start speculating on something! We need more silly theories!
Not only that, but we're a mere 338 messages from the 4000 mark! Everyone contribute!
[This message has been edited by Czhorat (edited 04-24-2001).]

I'll stop now.

Affirmative, the FiB Dossier thread is compelling reading.
