OK, this is a very interesting page. We see that the editor DOES know about the whole Hyperman/Lance thing as was predicted. The whole conversation with Lance IS rather confusing. Then again, the title tips that off. "Lance am having everything to do with Hyperman! Hyperman is very much me!" I really like the journalism rivalry, it reminds me of choir/band and Newspaper/Yearbook in school.
Let's see. Hyperman's origins may just be revealed here, Will could be considerred to be "fighting" with Rikk (as Shanna could be with Lance)....
Finally, look there on Lance's desk. The bundle just right of the center, in front of the lunchbox. Could it possibly be....the vaunted 23-Sider of POWER?!?!?
All we need tommorrow is for Rumi to change her expression and we'll be running on schedule!
------------------

Call me crazy, but... I'm starting to wonder if Lance really is Hyperman. I mean, unless Hype's powers derive from quantum mechanics-- the ability to be more than one place at once-- there seems to be no way he could have gone to protect Rumy, yet still been on the air, then with Shanna and Kath, the entire time.
Maybe Lance is trying to cash in on his resemblance to Hyperman in hopes of boffo ratings? (Hey, that cape behind his desk coulda just been a reproduction. And he could be lying to his editor.)
Unless of course T's mucking with our perception of time a la Alan Moore in Watchmen... Uhh, duder? Rumy wasn't saved by Hypes, I don't think. I'm pretty sure that was a fantasy scene. As for quantum principles, I think Campbell should check out "Quantum & Woody." That's a superhero team that knows how to make villains LAUGH to death.

And just so ya know, that was a pencil cup, not the 23-sider of anything. You can see the hole at the top when it first shows up. Dunno why there are no pencils, though.

If it IS the 23-sider of power, it's grown. I think it IS a pencil holder. Too bad, otherwise it would explain how Lance could turn into Hyperman... my old theory of 'Hold 23-sider in hand, say 'Deestablishmentarianism', gain super powers' theory.
I think Lance ISN'T Hyperman, he just wants people to think he is. He's trying to cash in on the idea of him being a Clark Kent type, with millions of people thinking they're the only ones who know Lance's secret.
It's like that 'Six foot tall man eating chicken' gag at the fair. You don't tell your fried that it's a man, six foot tall, eating fried chicken in the hopes they'll fall for it too.

OK. You're crazy!
All joking aside, I think you might be reading too much into this (have you been spending time with Nodrog by any chance?). My assumption is that these events aren't happening quite simultaniously, but are being shown that way for dramatic effect.
And Daggins, I don't see any reason to believe the thing with Rumy & Hyperman was a fantasy sequence (god, that sounds really dirty). She seemed to surprised to be using ehr own imagination (and besides, it really isn't her style of fantasy), we don't care enough about the teacher to care what he dreams about, and Hyperman doesn't really know Rumy. I think it really happened, then he flew back to the TV Studio realfast.
I do like Nodrog's theory on Hyperman and Lance. I don't believe it for a picosecond, but I like it.

She starts swinging the whip forward and suddenly stops, startled, yanking on the handle of the whip. However, something behind her is holding onto the tip.
Alisin turns and we see... SUPER KATH! Looking just like Normal Kath, except dressed in a suit of magical armor, floating two feet in the air, and easily holding the tip of the wip with just two fingers while Alisin tugs as hard as she can. Meenwhile, Super Shanna and Laser Lance rush in, to discover HyperMan still trying to protect Rumi (and with noone to protect him from Rumi). Final battle, the one we thought we'ld never see: Lance vs Hyperman!
"You're nothing but a whish-ed up super hero!"
"Ha! I am rubber, you are glue!"
"I take it Hyper-Intelligence isn't part of the super-hero package for you?"
