See my response in the "This Broght To You By Brains Incorporated" thread... I said there that I think Tim is indeed having a heart attack; perhaps just a minor one, though. On 2002-03-10 23:00, devlor wrote:
Is it just me, or does it look like Tim is having a heart attack?
To continue my speculation from that thread, I don't think the attack was brought on by the meteor falling or the car crash; Tim's seen worse fighting the FIB. No, I think he saw something, perhaps that shape rising out of the crater (it reminds me of the symbol for infinity), and that was what was too much for him.
Speaking of that shape... Is this thing a Seiberg, then? And if so, why has the General chosen to wait for it to 'invade' the Earth first?
Can't be a Seiberg... by their very nature they're imperceptible to us lowly humans, fixed in our (essentially) 3D pathways. Further, from the General's description of them, it seems likely that they only exist outside of gravitational wells.
As for Tim... oof. He actually hurtled from the rear driver's side of the car to the front passenger seat! Maybe we should be worried about Shanna, crushed under his bulk...
Anyone else wondering at the double meaning of the last two strips' titles? "Breakdown" implying any number of things about the group as a whole and certain individuals within it (those injured in the accident, for example)... and when I read "Exit Ahead" I definitely got a little ominous twinge... whose exit will the arrival of the meteor/extraterrestrial herald? *cue foreboding theme music*

Well, as to be imperceptible by their very nature, I don't know about that... A fourth dimensional object casts a third dimensional shadow, yadda yadda. On 2002-03-11 11:54, J. wrote:

I'd forgotten that from the General's description, though... Good point. So, I guess I'm leaning back towards this being Big Red and Rumy's offspring, then.

It looks like a big butt.
No, look at it. It does. A big, glowing BUTT.

Exit?
Hope it's not Tim. It's like that Farscape episode where D'Argo seems to quite defintely die and his body destroyed in the first fifteen minutes of an episode... no drawn out stuff, or anything. Just his brains being scooped out, then the good guys burning his body and throwing it into the chasm.
I don't think that's how T would kill someone, though...

You mean this guy? I suppose there is a bit of a similarity, but Fanboy is a bit more portly. Besides, he's been obsessing about the club; anybody can do that. There's always one dedicated freak.
Oh, and as to the 'butt' comment, look at the title: Full moon in the mist.

I personally think that the similarity between NonMugle and Tim the Fanboy is coincidental. Much like the similarity between all of the first mind controlled geeks at the comic shop with Rumy. Besides, that was Thor's art and Tim the Fanboy is Jason's. Not to knock either but I think that if one of them drew both we'd see the difference.
I think Tim is having a seizure because he's stared into the big brown eye of doooooooom!
Heh heh, the only other thing I could see it as is a pair of eyes. They're black right now because they're closed. Sure, it could be a big floating brain. I just hope that T doesn't have the mists part and have it actually BE a big floating butt. Then again, if it is a rear then we all know what the pink cloud is don't we?
I personally would rather think of the black area as the thing's shadow. This could very well be an evil counterpart of the Xenochicklets, like my bounty hunter idea stated elsewhere. I'm reminded of an episode of Evangelion here, the concept of the shadow being the creature and the object being its shadow.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend... Until our mutual foe has been dispatched, at least. On 2002-03-12 19:25, Catz Bartlett wrote:

If the big black thing is an evil Xenochicklet-thingy...then wouldn't that make the General probably good?
The General may not hold to that logic, however; Fa(a)ns! has a history of multiple villans... I mean, would you say that Miller was "good" just because he killed the vampire who attacked Muffy? Let's not forget who ordered the deaths of the alterfen, here. The General may not be opposed to these Evilchicklets as such, just planning to take advantage of them some how.

I don't know if Evilchicklets would be a good term for them since the whole point of the name was the shape. Then again, it fits for now since I don't think we want to be typing Darkbutts all over the boards.
I think that the General doesn't want to help stave off the invasion, I think she just needed to wait for it to start before begining her own plans.
