I never knew much Dr. Who, but that's mainly fate. My friend (Murasaki, until he gets another online moniker) told me tons about it from when he watched it growing up in California. That's how I know that Daleks yell "Exterminate!" a lot. Other than the basics I don't know anything about the series.
That doesn't mean I'm not excited though!
I mean, Dr. Who and Giles too!
What's NOT cool about that?
------------------

Wooo!!!
Dr Who was one of the scifi shows I grew up with. And, against the rest of my scifi society, I rated Sylvester McCoy quite highly as the Doctor...
------------------

I only have hazy memories of the Doctor, since I only saw few episodes and I was very young, but I'm trying to track some of them down on VHS or DVD....
Does anybody know if the TV movie from a few years back is still only available in the UK?
------------------

The 1996 TV movie is commercially available in the US, as are a majority of the BBC tv episodes and (if you know where to look) some of the independent spinoff stuff. I'm still trying to hunt down a copy of Downtime (a story where a bunch of the Doctor's sidekicks have to thwart an alien invasion without his help), but I've found some other oddities, like K-9 and Company, the failed spinoff for the Doctor's robot dog (not one of the all-time classics, people).

Wow! I'd heard about "Death Comes to Time" awhile back as audio only broadcasts, but never tuned in, since RealPlayer doesn't play well with OS X. (My home machine is now an iBook) Anyway, I hope they get a good turnout for this. Any support for the Doctor's futher exploits is good support.
Like the art, and the cast will surely do a bang-up job. Very curious, though, as to the format they're going to present it in. It would be nice if they give us a more generic format like mpeg or Flash, which can live on a lot more OSs comfortably.
Hmmm. Tough call to make now. It's on Feb 14th. Valentines Day. Do I take the gf out to dinner, or watch Dr Who?
