In today's strip there was a key word that entered into my eyes and tehn stuck to my brain after finishing the rest. that word was Senior. Having just today finished the archives and beginning to post on this here message board, I must say I am troubled by the unstoppable, immovable force that accompanies the status of Senior. That overwhelmingly terrifying force is none other than...
Graduation
I realize that there is a whole year ahead, or is there? Or will time warp itself in manners that will freeze it's passage yet let folk move about in it's sister force of space? Answers to these forboding and bone-chilling question I do not have. Is that cloud on the horizon a doom-filled cloud of sadnessy away-taking of nice people? Or is merely my own fears coalescing into a malignant nebulous of haze in my own eyeballs of the mind?
I don't know. I just. don't. know.
Zombi Bobb
------------------

Okay, yes I am replying to my own message. Yes, that's like talking to yourself. Yes, m-hm. Your right.
BUT TOO BAD! AAAHHhahahahahaa!
Wait, anyway, what was I doing? Oh yeah.
By "today's" I meant friday's.
Also, I have realized that while Will is a senior and graduation could possibly mean his departure, which would make me cry (way to go making a grown -yet childish- man cry), that doesn't mean he would go away. Shanna isn't in college any more, yet there she is! Not being gone! But then again, she is local because she chooses to be, would this be the choice Will would make? I am not knowing what the theatre scene around Billberg College is like, perhaps the college theatre itself is in need of staffing.
Or maybe I am worrying about something much too early. Maybe I'm missing something vital, probably, but the anxiety! It kills! It kiiillllllllllllssss!
Zombi Bobb
------------------

Kath isn't in college either, nor are Alisin (as far as we know) or the veteran guy. I don't think Will's going anyplace soon.
------------------

Yet again, I reply to myself!
I danged forgot! Katherine, while she was convinced to stay, agreed to only another year! Yarg! Why is it that almost everything new that I find seems to be unravelling?! So now, Will AND Katherine are predestined to leave! I was so happy before I had the ability to assimilate information and decipher it into understandable jibber jabber in my skull! No! Mind reeling yet freezing at same time! Going. to. 'splode.
Zombi Bobb
------------------

Aha! I now reply to others!
Hooray! Thank you for showing me that up ahead is not a cliff's edge of unimaginable falling-into-ness. Instead is a mighty bridge to cross the gorge of things-that-troubled-me-before-but-don't-any-longer.
Zombi Bobb
------------------

For the record, I'm still here in the 'Burg post-graduation (which makes me wonder if my counterpart WILL be, too? ^_~) ... and for the record, I am dating a Freshmen girl who showed interest in me right away ... ::shudder:: Does FANS! imitate life, or life imitate FANS!?

--GB

"Guys, if I'm still hanging out with Skiffy at 26, kill me. I'll have no life, anyway!" --me
Assuming I didn't hallucinate it, T did mention somewhere on this board that Fans! does have at least a semi-planned out story, complete with a beginning, a middle, and, alas, an end.
I'm assuming the end is not coming immediately (we have only had about 2 years of Fans! online), but I suspect that it will come. If and when it does, I will of course look forward to T's next project!

I'd love to see Faans! go on forever, but find that stories work better if they have a beginning, middle, and an end. Speaking (a while back) of the forum, what's the organization on that? Are we trying to do it live, through ICQ or AIM or something similar, or a thread which everyone reloads every five minutes...?
------------------

If the Forum is intended to run only on Saturday, then it is likely I will miss it too. My home machine has just popped its clogs, refusing adamantly to complete a dial-up networking call; it is a symptom of fatal Windows95 registry indigestion, and can only really be treated by a complete rebuild. The good side: I will have a nice clean installation again. The bad side; all the reinstallation work. I can't tackle it before tonight (Friday), and so may not be in touch again in time for Saturday. I won't be able to get to my alternative (work) connection until Monday.
Czhorat: best wishes for a speedy recovery, and a virtual bunch of flowers, to Karen.
Story arc; Somehow stories with a planned structure seem be more satisfying than "the episodes of a continuing cast of characters". For example, contrast "Watchmen" with, say, the Green Lantern body of work (parts of which I am not an expert on). Having a definite ending in mind, at least for this storyline/adventure/work-in-progress does not preclude spinoffs or related work in the same ficton, perhaps using some of the existing characters. And I hope, T, that you would at least give us a heads-up about any new works you started on.
On the other hand there are strips that go on for years with a cast of characters and enjoy success; Peanuts, or perhaps with more relevance, Doonesbury. They do tend to be the 3-panels-and-a-punch-line format, I suppose because that's what sells to newspapers.
Hope to be online for Saturday, but not counting on it . . .
Muttley

Well, *I'm* in favor of that idea, for what it's worth. My schedule's insane, but I can always find a few moments to talk... and I'll let everyone know when I'm going to stop in...
