Full frontal nudity double standard!

Yeah, if KnKBoodle is any indication, I don't think what you had planned would have had any problems, and in fact would have been relativley tame. Guess you could always do a revision if you really wanted.

I'm gonna go for it.I made a photocopy of the page. I nearly drew Ama *completely* naked in today's page. Then I thought better of it and put that goofy tube thing over him. It bothers me a little. I was able to draw a woman fully naked in <A HREF="http://ancientmessages.keenspace.com/d/20010403.html" TARGET=_blank>this page.</A>Oh well.

You are right, there is a double standard. American society more easily accepts frontal female nudity than male frontal nudity. Sad, but true. The realities being what they are, I totally respect your decision to avoid potential problems by "fixing" the picture. Having said that, I think you probably could have gotten away with it, given some of the comics I've seen out here on the Web, even here on Keenspace!

As long as your audience remains comparitively small, you guys should be OK doing pretty much what you want. You both are not being deliberately shocking, you are simply telling your stories. Even the strips which are 'in your face' with thier content are not getting much attention outside the community of Web comic fans and cartoonists.

chiming in....I've slowly allowed myself to be assimilated by the double standard myself. I realised this when I prepared to run a short series of archive strips from the early 90s, looked at them and went "uhrm."I'm running them, unedited, anyway. I guess Ama can go to your harem, Shiro pointed out to me he may not be comfortable around all my furry muscular men, not to mention the ducks. . .and he would probably attack the Disney's Gargoyles thinking they are Demons. ^o^ Not to mention, I do have a friends Demon character in my harem too . . .------------------
