Well, the face is feminine, but the torso is masculine to me. The eyebrows and the eyelashes as well as the hair style all tell me the figure is a woman. Even the lips, though I'm not sure why. Also, the kimono style looks feminine. At least the design suggests kimono to me.
Its the "square" breasts which is the masculine looking part of the chest.
Overall though, I'd say it looks more like a she than a he, so my guess is: woman.
Hopefully its not a trick question and its a female impersonator!
[This message has been edited by gordon (edited 04-07-2001).]
[This message has been edited by gordon (edited 04-07-2001).]

Looks like a man to me. Just very Heian-era-Japan.
------------------

Yeh, the square chest would lead me to believe man, regardless of the other femenine traits.

I'd say it looks more feminine than masculine...given the face, in fact, most of the head, and the kimono.
BUT of course the chest suggest otherwise.
Perchance an impersonator, but who knows.
-Frappe

Just for the sake of clarity, could you guys pick one or the other? I've got a bet going with Emily over this.

it's female..
the face is definately feminine, even though she might not be the most well-endowed female on the planet..
Rather 'Ally McBeal'-ish..

The count looks like its 3 to 2 for female so far. A close race! If you lose Shiro, are you going to demand a recount? Look for hanging chads and all that?

Hmm.
This is a tough one.
I'd probably have to say woman, but it's a hard call, and I've changed my mind half a dozen times.
The face and hair are clearly feminine.
The chest, however, could either be that of a young or underdeveloped woman, or a man with less-than-average muscles and no chest hair.
Of course, if the option existed, I'd say that it looked androgynous. Sort of similar to a Rorschach Test, with the important thing not being what's *in* the pictures so much as what the observer is looking for.
Interesting.
Eric "Random Nerd" Eves

As much as I want to say male, I would have to go with female. The figure lacks muscles in the arms. But... but.... around the waist area, it seams to go straight down. Women are more curved in that area because of the whole child birth pregnancy thing.
You know what? Forget my original choice. Judging what I noticed about the waist, I would have to say male.
AJS http://wish.keenspace.com

I have to say that my first reaction was female. Then I remembered your obsession with Bishonen. Still, it looks female. So female.
-Remi
