Webcomic needs artist

Postby Bevan on Thu May 10, 2001 12:24 am

I'm currently writing a comic book that T. Campbell agreed to showcase in Webcomics World, and I despertly need an artist for it (at least at the beginning, you wouldn't be getting any money for it, but are we in it for the money?).
The comic in question is Spiritus Mundi, the story of a group of strange university students, primarily one called Arthur Campbell, a fan-boy fascinated by esoteric religions and magic. The story is a serial and describes what happens when things start to get weird for him, supernatural weird.
The comic is decently serious (weird and funny stuff happen in it, but the story itself is serious, at least in theory), but I'm not looking for any particular style right now. Realistic, manga, or even some cartoony artforms might be appropriate. I'll judge each one individually.
If you are interested, please e-mail me at bthomasa@hotmail.com and send me some examples of your artwork so I can decide if your style is suitable.

I quite understand (scratch that, I hope to reach the point of creative output which I could understand).

Yes, I would try... but I shouldn't. I'm doing 4 webcomics, and comic books, and I'm making a game and 2 cartoons, and... let's just say, I really need somebody to dump a bunch of work on. Curse you Megs...
But where would I find somebody as gullible as me?
------------------

Whoops, that sounded nasty/sarcastic. Sorry about that. Completely unintentional. Sorry.
Yeah, I have been posting it all over the place, hoping to get as much nibbles as possible.
Umm..., does that mean you would be interested in trying out for it, Joe?

Hey, Bevan.. I could do it!
I'm only doing one webmanga right now, but it may become two if what I'm planning goes well.
I don't know. I guess it depends on if you like my style.
But... I guess I'm not very good.. so you'd probably want someone that's better and can do more action poses then I can..
oh well.
------------------

Sometimes I wish I could draw stuff good enough to make a webcomic. I've made attempts, but they're not that great. The best I get is when I imitate someone else's art. I can recreate, but not create. Stupid hands don't agree with my mind.
Fortunately though, I can color & manipulate. I'm good at that. I've got Photoshop plus a similar program, and it works pretty well. If you need something colored, I can probably do it.
-Sarah
[This message has been edited by DeathSprite (edited 05-23-2001).]
