Ho, folks,I must apologize for my tardiness the past three weeks in getting strips posted on the site. A new semester has dawned, I'm working my butt off to become what all Americans strive to be--French. No, wait, I mean "debt-free"! But circumstances are emerging which will force me to--yes, it's true!--start doodling new strips. In addition to my weekly run in the William Paterson University "Beacon," another paper may be taking up my strip on a DAILY basis. That's right, I may be posting strips Monday through Friday.Settle, people, settle. Wipe up the drool. It hasn't happened yet. But it very well might...So, at the very worst, I'll be up and going strong again on a semi-weekly basis, Tuesdays and Fridays. And, if things *really* work out, I'll be goin' every weekday!Woo!So, please don't leave for good if you've enjoyed the strip, but haven't seen anything new for a while. It'll happen. Now let's see if I get this right. You have been late before with the strip and we are to believe that you will never ever ever ever again, cross your heart and hope to die, be late with the wonderful strip that we occasionally see you produce. How gullible do you think we are? oh that gullible! sorry I bothered you.

Now, Now, Squire Fred. I never said I'd be late again. I didn't see that in my post! I'm just saying that I'll be more productive and post more strips more often. Whether I'll be on time is another matter entirely.There's really only one set of circumstances that would ever keep me true to a schedule, comics-wise. This set of situational factors is as follows:(1) Pay me per strip
(2) Put me on a deadline
(3) Don't pay me unless I make the deadlineNow, there are other circumstances that would achieve the same results--hold me hostage, hold me accountable, hold me tender, hold me treasure, matey, arrrr......but the above is only way I've known for SURE to keep me honest. So don't leave, Fred. Come back. Soon. Read the stuff. Be a chipper li'l lad. Scrooge'll buy you that christmas goose...mmmmmm...Anyhoo, I hope that wipes away any of that bitter "I've heard that promise before you bastard you're not sucking me into a dark pit of dashed expectations again YOU SON OF A--" thoughts you might be having. I know my limitations. Keeping up with a webstrip that I do for fun vs. a job I do for rent is a fight I often lose......so won't you PLEASE GIVE NOW?Whee! If I put as much time into the strips as I do into some of these forum posts, I'd be syndicated by now.Later!------------------

It's been a while since I've been here, and I apologize for that. I have good news or bad news, depending on how much of a fan of the strip you are...The University of Maryland Diamondback has picked up FC again for the 2001 Spring Semester. That means I'll be pumping out 5 strips a week on their weekday schedule, which means about 60-75 new strips in the next three months.Starting Feb. 12, I will be running FC on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. That way, new FCs will be running well into the summer, and you folks will not have to be subjected to beta strips, re-runs, and thumbing through the archives screaming, "Is this guy doing ANYTHING new??"Of course, that's assuming anyone returns...But I am ever the optimist.
