Shihad need a new name

Today's Spike (Sydney Morning Herald, Fri 28 Dec 2001, p. 20) has an item on Shihad. Apparently they're looking for a new name to placate their US record label, which fears they won't get airplay under their current tag.<P>Howls of derisive laughter, Bruce. The music business really is full of people who couldn't find their arses with both hands. Next up, Stella One Eleven get sued by General Dynamics for trademark infringement. (joke

hurmph, yeah it probably won't get much airplay in the states. However, a lot of money is there for the taking if they do, and all artists, no matter how good, want money.

I read in this week's Drum Media that Shihad have thought of a new name, but it's trademarked all over the world by another band.

Yeah, that's what I read... shame they didn't rename themselves 'The Holy War On America'.

I hope they still go by 'Shihad' down here, I mean, Josh Abrahams goes by the name 'Puretone' in the UK, but we don't call him that here...
