Stupid question.. What's the diff between Keenspot and Keenspace?

No, I'm not <i>really</i> joining keenspot. As for what "on the spot" is, you'll soon see.

Shadowydreamer: KeenSpot is the mother site to KeenSpace, it is where a select group of comics resides, and has a lot more viewers. They share some of the profits from ad revenue with the artists, though at present time, it is not that much money. Part of the attractiveness of the site is that you are almost guaranteed readers with the way it is set up. It has a nice front page with the logos representing each comic, which gives unfamiliar visitors something more that a name among thousands (on KeenSpace's list of comics page) to choose from.

KeenSpot is a goal for many of the artists on KeenSpace, since it is seen as achievement. "Wow, you've been Spotted." It's kinda'like getting called up to the major league from the minors.

To keep quality control, KeenSpot limits the people they take in, based on the following criteria: Number of visitors you get to your page each day and if your comic seems a good fit for the site. This is the part that rubs a lot of people the wrong way, because it is based on whether or not the three or four people who run KeenSpot like your comic. While there are some good comics on there, there is also a lot of dead wood that it seems, a site with such high standards would have dropped a long time ago.

For a long time, they didn't let Boxjam in, and he was voted <i>best comic on the internet</i>, so when it comes to a matter of taste, everyone's is different. You could have a comic that everybody loves, but the people who choose, either don't like, don't get, or just don't notice it. Those people, will probably never get to KeenSpot. With 2000 comics (based on a number I saw on another post, which may or may not be accurate) on KeenSpace, it is hard to get attention. You really have to know how to, and have time to push your comic.

For the record, I have already been told that, at the moment, Todd and Penguin is not KeenSpot material. Should I suddenly get a lot more readers, perhaps they will take a second look.
