I guess I'll do rant #2, and this time I'd like others to actually join it, for Ringo's sake.

So what is up with people starting to post when I stop coming? Huh? Yeah! Funny story: it took me five minutes to find the "New Topic" button. Who wants to see the 20th anniversary E.T. thingy? I know I do. But they took out the guns and made them walkie-talkies. What is up with that? "Stop, or I'll call for more walkie-talkies!" ?? What's up with nobody putting The Beatles as one of their favorite bands? That's crazy! Strawberry Fields FOREVER! Why can't apostrophe's b'e us'ed m'ore? I' thin'k 'they sh'ould! Why can't traffic cones be a staple of normal, friendly, conversation? What's up with diet Dr. Pepper? It's like "WHOA! Get over yourself diet Dr. Pepper!" I think Erik Estrada should have been in many more shows than just ChiPs. And what's up with networks cancelling good shows lately? First it was Invader Zim, then Futurama, and now Mystery Science Theatre 3000! Ok, maybe MST3K came before those, but don't watch it regularly because I'm usually asleep when it comes on. What's up with Space Godzilla? And King Ghidorah? What's up with Canada? It's like "Hey, you're the U.S.' neighbors to the north!" Seriously!

My only real irritations at the moment..

1) THEY CANCELLED FUTURAMA?!

2) Organized a huge ass meeting for Sakura Con in Vancouver.. (Sakura Con being an anime con that's in the Seattle area) ..Some of the staff came up on the Saturday to shop and tour. One gent drove up his mini-bus (12 seater) and we gathered at my place before heading out to shop. When the van got here there were already several people here. That's cool. Their one smoker was smoking when everyone else came in so I told him to just join us downstairs when he was done. So, this guy, when he came in, stepped over 20 (ish) pairs of shoes to walk across the cream-white carpet with his shoes on to come downstairs. HELLO? Thank you for tracking dirt and muck all across my carpet, don't you have a clue? Everyone *else's* shoes are there!

3) Work for another con, bust my butt for them.. I haven't quite worked out why yet.. ^_^ But, I had two people pestering me they want to sign up as Convention Commitee members.. Emailed the Chair, emailed the chair.. THEY emailed the chair.. no response, no answer. How hard would it be to email them and say "GREAT! Come out to the next meeting at.." Duh.

..Okay, I guess I'm just ranting about inconsiderate and/or stupid people.

Ok the deal with Futurama is:
Fox is going to show all the episodes that were pre-empted by football. As for a new season? Who knows.
At least I think that's how it is anyway.

My turn: <b>ET</b>: Already paid Speilberg my money first time around, I'm not buying the hype...Diet Dr. Pepper? I don't even like the original, so I am not the person to ask...Erik Estrada in <i>more</i> shows? Apparently someone isn't watching his telenovelas, pal, because Poncho is in every stinking one of them....Futurama never grabbed me the way the Simpsons did. I am much more upset over the demise of the Family Guy....Beatles? Get over it already, they are history. There have only been eight zillion bands that have come along since then, and though the Beatles were good, I am not bowing eternally to them as if they were the first, or the best. No since in living in the past forever....MST3K hasn't been the same since Joel left...and Rosie O'Donnel is not a hero for coming out of the closet at the end of her career. All the 'news' media type are fawning all over her like she's a hero, actually calling her brave. I think it would have been much braver had she come out earlier in her career, when it might have actually been a risk. Right now, it's easy. She's rich, she's got her fame, and once you are famous, it's chic to be gay, so puhleaaase spare the hero crap for someone else....
Did I mention that I am cranky today?

I apologize for the previous post. Not that I said anything horrible, but sometimes my sarcasm gets worse when I am in a bad mood. The new job is stressful, a lot of new things, and a host of rude people to deal with. I'm a quick learner though, and hopefully all should be well by this weekend.
