Agreed, the name was just something off the top of my head to attract people in. ^_~ I will say that "Cosmic Genesis" as a name, while it's a great name, might not apply in this case because "Genesis" implies a new beginning or grand start to something and nothing in the current plot ideas we have implies something like that.

...although, we're still modifying the plot, so maybe.

They could destroy the current configuration of parallel worlds to make way for a newer, better one...

What a great idea! Then every ten years we can retcon it again! :D

(Weirdly enough, I LIKE Zero Hour and Infinite Crisis...)

You know, someday, I'd like to actually like to work for DC and pitch the next Crisis, say ten years or twenty years from now. I will push for two basic ideas and then build a story out of it, and I'd promise them it'd be the fan favorite that people would talk about for decades to come because of these two things:

1. There will be no retcon.
2. No one will die.

People will expect both a retcon to happen and for there to be a large bodycount and we'd shock them all by not killing anyone or changing the history in any way.

Anywho, back on topic, since we have a core group of people who seem to have joined up, I'm going to set up a Yahoo Group tonight for us to start discussing details, hammering out plot-related stuff, names, artist(s), etc., and post it up here.

Oh, and has anyone heard from Abby of Green Avenger fame? I know she's had difficulty getting internet access while she's in Japan, but I was hoping she'd have gotten the e-mail by now.

Alrighty, group's up! As soon as I see about the right amount of people in on it, we'll start open discussion of ideas and whatnot. ^^

I have no superheros or villans to offer and my comic has only just begun really. Still, superhero/supervillains are an important backdrop to my characters' lives. So if there is any room for comic releif in this endeavor, I do have a a setting to offer more than characters. I would love if one or so of my characters made cameos. The big thing I can contribute though is a place thta is a nexus amidst all dimensions and parallel universes. That is the store my title character, Daisy Mae Fox, owns and how I explain to myself the idea that potentially I could have any character appear in my strip if I so wished.

The store is a place where supervillains and superheroes alike can shop for all their needs mundane and world shaking, without having to worry about secret identiities. They can sit back, have a cup of coffee and just relax. They usually don't relax but, hey, at least they have a place to try if they wanted to. Anyway it's a neutral area and Daisy Mae is quite capable of enforcing the truce on anyone, so it's a place that important info could be garnered or suspects found. Daisy Mae is quick to nip any fighting in the bud though.

Physics in this nexus are a tricky thing. My characters ARE Toons. Cartoon characters who know they are cartoons in the spirit of Bugs Bunny, Animaniacs, etc and follow the exagerated and imagination driven laws of physics that govern such animated cartoons. Customers and visitors tot he nexus/store, though are a different matter. They follow which ever laws of physics that is innate to them and their universe while interacting with each other. It takes a certain leap of faith to discount everything you have ever believed about the nature of things before one can take advantage of the store's own innate laws of physics the way Daisy Mae does. Even most superheroes and villains are too mundane to figure that out in the short time spent shopping, so there shouldn't be any problem of something being too easily resolved. Cartoon physics are just too warped and illogical for non-Toons to grasp offhand.

On a final note, The Dip does exist in this world, movies like "Who Framed Rodger Rabbit?" are considered docu-dramas rather than fictional. So...'The Dip' is probably the only thing that can't be found Daisy Mae's store....for sale.

Anyway...I think the setting of my comic more than the actual characters would be a an unusual and nice twist to your story. ^.^ ((Superheroes and Supervillains usually appear only in sillouette in my strip because who or what they are, are not important to the flow of things, a convention that could be reversed, played with or dropped totally for this.))

Well, considering the dramatic element of the story and how far we've progressed so far, not sure we could have you included as part of the main cast, but a cameo or two might work out just fine. ^_~ I'll have to talk it over with the others, they may say it's perfectly reasonable for you to take part in it.

Looks like we'll be including you at least as a cameo. ^_~ Right now we're hammering out plot details, so it's unknown yet whether or not the cameo will be a big one or a small one. If it should grow into a larger cameo, we'll let you know and you can join the Yahoo group and be part of the creative process for it.

Oh, and having a link for us to view would help. ^_~

This is probably highly presumptuous of me to even post here but this sounds like a cool idea and I'd love to participate, maybe as a cameo? I have the 1st story finished on paper and I'm putting it up every two days, but I just started on comicgen about two weeks ago.
IF sarcastic superpowered patriotic government agents come into play at all, my characters fit the bill.

At this point in the game, I'm not sure if we can fit any more into the main cast, but a cameo would certainly be fine. ^_^

Daisy Mae's Bazaar

Here's a link. I shall have myself a fancy graphical banner some day soon but I must flush out my site with archive and cast pages first. I did not really set up my comic for storylines of its own but i'm stoarting a really simple one anyway. I've found they are a great catalysts for ideas for specific comics. I do not have that many archived comics yet then again, Daisy Mae's Bazaar is not really too complicated to get an idea of. I'm still establishing things but all my main characters have made at elat one appearance so far. All this long winded stuff I've got here is hopefully preemptive answers to questions that may or may not come to mind.

Since my scanner is up and running maybe I could draw a page and then someone else could add the lettering?

(Need Freehand, hate to do lettering in Photoshop!)
