Still looking for members? My comic has a healthy dose of violence - a lot of magicky technique stuff, but hand to hand as well.

Gammyun:

Your comic is interesting, but in all the scenes you've linked to, there are only 3 "moves" that aren't just elemental blasts:
the "monkey" move in http://juathuur.keenspace.com/d/20050415.html ,
elbow, and sidekick: http://juathuur.keenspace.com/d/20050416.html

That's just one 3-move scene. Please post again when you've got another, 5-move-plus scene. It's fine if the technique's power or speed is enhanced by an elemental attack, but the point of the move-count restrictions is to avoid getting Donkeyball Zed-type comics.

How about mine? Blue Skunk's fairly violent. It's mostly gun-battle/ambush-y style violence

Here

to
http://freakofnature.keenspace.com/d/20040812.html
here.

But there is some hand-to-hand. Not much, because I haven't had an opertunity to use much of the hand-to-hand characters yet.

or maybe

Depending on how you rate it.

And as for chauvinism, I'm female. Better watch out guys.

'writer:

I like your drawing style, it's nice and colorful. But you still don't meet the minimum requirements: one 3-move fight scene and one 5-move fight scene.

The second scene, kick countered by a punch, is a 2-move at best (really only 1). And I doubt the gun battle would count as "moves" because there's nothing to demonstrate the element of SKILL, just characters firing into the foreground, followed by an explosion.

Those numbers are meant as minimums, not because I think combat can be quantified that easily, but because I'd like to differentiate between, say, a comic about martial artists standing around and talking while all the action occurs off-panel, and a comic that shows the fight sequences. For those who don't know what I mean, just look at any of our members' strips.

These aren't permanent rejections, just go back and actually post two real fight scenes before applying for membership.

I'll like to join if possible. Got a healthy fight scene so far and many many ( more violent ones  )more to come.

Kaza vs. Ashan

Theres a few other scenes before it but they don't contain anything more than a few punches thrown.

When you copied the dropdown tag code, did you remember to change the "[ ]" brackets to "< >"? I can't tell because your page blocks its source code

Is this still open? I've got a second major fight scene coming up which should qualify Cold Servings if it is.

Okay, I now have two fights up (although one is still ongoing):

Fight one
fight two

The second fight completes with next week's update.

The first fight scene has 7 moves, this one only 2 (judo throw, punch). What's described in text doesn't count for the purposes of this dropdown. I didn't respond until now because there's always still time to add more moves or another 3-move-minimum fight scene. I hate to quantify it, but the point of the numbers 3 and 5 is to ensure that the comic is really about the portrayed choreography on a regular basis. Post again when you're ready.

As I see it, the fight scene starts with the grab, followed by knife slash, then punch, then there's the dive/tackle and dodge, a pause, then the judo throw (uchi mata, for those who care), and the final punch.

You're added, Cold. I'm raising the numbers for the future, though. I understand the benefits of drawing fight scenes without any sort of motion lines whatsoever, but...uh...that tackle seems to miss both the girl and the bad guy completely, so I didn't really understand it until now.

He missed because they bad guy saw him and ducked. Thus the narration about "he can still see."

Members:

1) I'm dissapointed with half of you. Godlike, Jaeger Rising, and Vendetta are fine, but the rest of you don't seem to understand that the members of this dropdown are expected to be drawing FIGHT SCENES, not stories ABOUT fighters. And War World hasn't updated in 3 months. It's not that you can't have plot and dialogue, but if you aren't going to draw some occasional fights, what's the point of being in this dropdown?

2) I'm going to remake the dropdown banner to an animated gif. Everyone should submit a .gif file to me that's 300 pixels wide and 100 pixels tall. The .gif should have a picture from YOUR comic in the background with the words "KeenCombat" on it. Colors are up to you.
