Secret Santa 2004!

Postby Luprand on Tue Nov 16, 2004 5:04 am

Hey, everybody! Liz Walsh has started this year's Webcomic Secret Santa signups. Since she's not much of a regular on the forums, she's having me post this little announcement here.

Just head over to http://www.taoofgeek.com/ss/ to sign up; you'll be paired with someone at random. Just look at their comic, do some gift art, guest art, fan art, or whatever you want to call 'em, and send the stuff to the person on December 22 at the earliest.

Signups end December 5, so don't be late!

Yay! I did this last year, and got hooked up with the amazi-spectacu-wondermous Mansion of E! Hopefully I get someone just as good this year . . .

Okay...here's a question for y'.

By the 5th, (date of disbursal), I should hit the 20 comics mark...

...soOOooo....can I sign up?

Or not?

It's okay if it's not, just wondered. Yeah.

This sounds cool. The list of participants from last year was huge. I've got to boost production a bit to get 20 in the archive by the cutoff.

While I appreciated that greatly, my recipient dropped the ball; he never posted my strip, and I see he's also on the slacker list for not sending out a strip to his target.

Stilll, it was fun, and I've re-upped for another hitch.

Hi folks! As the OP said, I'm not a regular, so pardon my intrusion :D

You should have 20 comics by the time you sign up. Depending on how nice I am and how many comics ask, I may be tempted to "look the other way" if you have at least 15. Yeah, I'd be breaking my own rules, but I'm a fuggin' softie at heart. ;) Hey, last year I caved on the sprite comic issue :P

But yeah. 20 by the 5th is ideal here :)

If you're at all curious why the rule is there: I'm trying not to have a situation like last year, where you had people with TWO COMICS IN THEIR ARCHIVE signing up. This is a frustration because you can't really *do* anything with that small an archive. This way, it shows you're somewhat committed, plus we have a better idea of the direction of your comic.

I'm in.
Faith is what credulity becomes when it finally achieves escape velocity from the constraints of terrestrial discourse- reasonableness, internal coherence, civility, and candor. Thus, the men who commited the atrocities of September 11 were neither cowards nor lunatics of any sort, but Men of Faith- perfect faith- and this, it must finally be acknowleged, is a terrible thing to be.

Oo, this is kind of exciting. I'm in! And it's got to be better than the secret santa thing my dumb teacher did last year.

I'm so glad the comic minimum was 20 and not 50 cause I'm still a bit shy of that mark.

I want to do this so much that I rallied and did THREE comics for this week! (Yes I know a lot of people do three or more a week but it's been hard just doing one weekly and keeping up with my school work). So by December 5th I will have the 20 comic minimum!

So be sure to check out new comics this week on Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday! :D

Woohooo! This sounds fun, and found means I'm in!

(Guest comics? Connections to others? Hell, at this rate I'll be just like a real webcomic artist!)

Yep, (I got mine at least).

This should be good fun - the (mysterious-not-to-be-revealed-till-22nd) comic I got is very different to my own in style.

Plus there's the anticipation of wondering who got me!
