End of the Year Event

Post by TheLoserHero »

I'm startin' this thread for the December-ish season, and I wanted to do something special. However, not everyone's got snow or holidays during this time of the year, so I made this here thread so ideas can be posted.

<idea>
How about some sort of Keenspace-Prom-Dance shindig? One of your characters would ask another comic's character out to prom, get all gussied up (or not) and attend!
  • One artist does the "couple photos" where it's the two (or more!) characters posing for that pre-prom picture.
  • The other artist does the dance strip (not a strip dance... but yeah, I guess you could do that too), where the couple dances... or does whatever they want during the actual prom. (Spike the punch, release the hounds, pour pig's blood over someone...)
  • I guess we could vote for King and Queen of prom, too.
</idea>

I apologize in advance if this has already been done in previous years. And everyone feel free to post other end of the year event ideas.

Problem: not everyone has prom dances, either.
Faith is what credulity becomes when it finally achieves escape velocity from the constraints of terrestrial discourse- reasonableness, internal coherence, civility, and candor. Thus, the men who commited the atrocities of September 11 were neither cowards nor lunatics of any sort, but Men of Faith- perfect faith- and this, it must finally be acknowleged, is a terrible thing to be.

I like the idea. My characters could probably never get a date otherwise.

It doesn't have to be a prom necessarily. It could be just a big Keenspace social. Or a mixer.

Kind of like a company Christmas party without the Christmas.

Count me in.

JexKerome: Ah, I'm sorry if I offended you, or anyone who never had a prom. I meant it more along the lines of a big extravagant party that could encompass the holiday season as well as the upcoming New Year's. I honestly meant no disrespect.

This is an idea thread! IDEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS!

Perhaps if they have a coupling already in the same comic that could work too. Then we could just create an album of Prom pictures that almost tell a story of how that dance occured? The idea has potiential.

Pulling up my repressed memories from school:

I see a big picture of all the Keenspace boys sitting against one wall, looking sheepish and daring each other to ask a Keenspace girl to dance, and all the Keenspace girls against the other wall wondering how long they have to wait before they just go dance with each other.

Excellent!

All my ho's are up for grabs - after all, we are an "escort service." :)
I'm willing to pair up with more than one artist for this, since I've got a bunch of male characters available, plus Pimpette if anyone's interested.

That's why it should just be a social event. Sort of like those painfully uncomfortable family reunions where you get stuck dancing with your older slightly boyish cousin with the huge mouth gear. That happens to everyone right?

My only female cousins are around 15 years younger than me :)

But a big Year's End Ball sounds like a great idea; everyone has one of those, even if their end of the year is not exactly Dec 31st.

None of my characters has any current relationship attachment, so they are all available (ask the lich snake person at your own risk; he may want to eat his date afterwards :) )

Hm, maybe everyone that participates in this year's end event should make a list of their charachters available. Would be easier that way :)

I have available:

Rhince Vheras, male, about 20, almost mage apprentice
Sha-mon Hyio, male, about 22, mage apprentice

I think this a great idea; I'll join in too. I don't know my characters exact ages; I'll try to give a estimate. There's only like one couple within my comic right now, but I don't think they'd mind going to a dance with other characters.
Males:
Late Teens/Early 20's (college age)
Eddie
Bob
Karl
(Appears to be early or mid 20's)
Kyran
Nyos
Jurinjo
Vladic
(Appears to be..older I dunno)
Bubba Miyagi
Females:
Late Teens/Early 20's (college age)
Saya
Sal
Burgundy
(Appears to be early or mid 20's)
Delaine
Alkia
Orulla
Animal (ish) characters
Fred (cat, female)
Andrew (robot dog, male)
Man I have a large cast. I'd probably be willing to do this with more than one artist. Be sure to check out what my characters are like before one of yours asks them out. They might regret it.

Hmm...I'll think about it...but most of my characters are 10...unless it's a Blue Light Disco with no alcohol mine won't be allowed in...

But don't worry...I think I'll just draw something up anyway and contribute as an extra...I've got an idea brewing at the moment...

Xu're, human shaman, mid-twenties
Yanti, fox-person rogue, but can create the illusion of a human boy, late teens.

Rhellik: sounds like fun! Just watch out, VanaRo will probably spend the whole time talking.

Coyotzin: assuming this all works out, I think Sijei might get the nerve up to ask out the bookish hawk maiden on the left. And Kara might pull a Sadie Hawkins and invite Yanti.
