Your Character...as an Action Figure

Postby Noise Monkey on Mon May 24, 2004 5:37 am

Ok, I'm looking for characters to drop in psuedo guest-shots as action figures. If you've got a character you wouldn't mind lending me, I'll turn it into a toy, on the card and everything.

What I'll probably end up doing is taking your site banner and background and turning that into the card (so if you don't have a link in your signature or posted in your profile so I can click the www button, you need to post it when you sign-up) and then just using my drawing as the toy. I'll send you the large version of the whole thing so you can call it fan art or something (along with posting it where people can see them full sized on Dim Bulb Comics) and then put them on the wall in the store where my character works.

The strip I'll be doing this for is towards the end of my current storyline, but something like this will take time to do, so I'll send them back to you as I get them done.

I think my character "Rooster" would make a great action figure. He even has his own signature weapon... a nailgun.

Hey this sounds cool, I would suggest using "The Cockroach" or Harry, from my webcomic.
"The Cockroach" is my avatar, so you can see what he...er...it looks like. Harry's repeatedly shown in my webcomic.

The Cockroach
its a uh...a cockroach...he's a chauvanist pig (I'm still working on writing good stuff for him) and he carries around a 9mm handgun in his quest to take over the world, starting with Harry and May's apartment.

Harry Skellington
An undead skeleton that smokes, drinks, and swears too much. Wears khaki's, white button-up shirts, a stained blue blazer, and really, really, ugly ties. He also wears a fedora or anything with a wide brim. Basically anything from the 60's and below. Use your imagination :D
He carries around a gangster style Thompson and a Luger.

I wouldn't mind volunteering one of my characters, Orion probably would make the best, but the others could be good too.

feel free to use any of my characters, though I don't know if any of them are what you are looking for. The physical form of Quantum Physics would probably make a cool action figure.

Feel free to use Isahn C. Envac or Toshan Raiton for your toy idea ;)
Sounds good ... *g*

Feel free to use any of my characters, from guys in porcupine suits to giant robots. I'd probably have to recommend Gorgoroth, the giant robot, however (he's in the current plot, just flip back 6 strips or so to get good pictures of him).

Neat idea...

You can use my character Rosemary Ripley if you'd like. At the moment in the strip she's weaponless, so the best picture to use as a model would be her shot on the "Cast" page, where she's using a shield and a sword. And yes, that's a mining helmet with Valkyrie wings she's wearing.

Ok...small request...something I didn't think about earlier. To make it a wee bit easier to get this done (and of course I should mention there will be massive linkage to all the concerned parties) it would be greatly appreciated if you could supply a link to the comic you think shows the best representation of the character you'd like MOC with 36 points of articulation (I wouldn't suggest counting....I'll probably slack a little on that). Or just saying that they're on the character page or something like [geoduck] did.

Thanks!

"Rabid" Robert Smith would make a badass action figure!

Gorgoroth enters in this comic and is in about half of the ones after it. Although I haven't really done too many different perspectives of him yet.

oooh! Pick me! It sounds like so much fun!

I have a teenage magician called the Angel of Misery who would make a supercool action figure, though all my characters are up for grabs.

Here is a url to the beginning of a fight sequence which sprawls over several pages and shows him from all angles. Click the next page button to view the entire scene. (Misery is the one in the fishnet.) http://brokenglass.keenspace.com/d/20040420.html

This is a good pic of Misery wearing his trademark coat. http://brokenglass.keenspace.com/d/20040125.html

Here are two strips which best show Rooster with his nailgun:

http://sawdust.keenspace.com/d/20020322.html
http://sawdust.keenspace.com/d/20020325.html

There are better strips that show action, but I'm not proud of the art.

I think there needs to be an Earl the Archangel action figure! With Flaming Sword of Righteousness that really ignites!

And if you don't know what Earl looks like by now, well...who the hell's been drawing Troubled Times?

I think my avatar from the comic... that android Stryker might make a cool action figure. batteries not included. Stryker has been in the last five or six strips. as this current storyline (that ends tommorrow) has been his intro story.

though you can use any of the characters from my strip.

His comic isnt on my site yet, due to not being finished (did want to finish it before Free comic book day..no chance! XD), but Steve gunn might be a good one, basically he's a 20-odd white male with light brown hair who wears generic camoflage gear, a brown utility belt thingy and carries a very, very big gun...if you do decide to use him i could send you the title page of the comic i suppose XD
