REQ: Guest art for "Tasha's World" #100

Post by Tashasworld »

(posted to the Keenspace forums, the Keenspace mailing list, the Keenspace LiveJournal and my own LiveJournal)

"Tasha's World is finally about to reach 100 strips (what, after only 2 years?) and I'd like to do something special for this milestone.

Strip #100 is going to oversized, in color, and will contain the next major revelation in the lives of two of the main characters. What I'm asking is for a handful of artists to help. I plan to draw at least the lead-in and the revelation at the end. I would like a few volunteers to draw the middle bits. Of course, everyone who contributes will get a plug for their own sites, which will accompany the strip.

What I need is art (either B&W line art or color art) and someone to color the B&W panels (since i suck at coloring on the 'puter). I plan to have the 100th strip appear on Hallowe'en, so I'll need any contributions at least a week before that, to give me time to draw any missing panels and letter the whole thing.

If you're interested in contributing to the strip, reply to this post or e-mail me at witchywebcomics [at] hotmail [dot] com with your name, the name and URL of your site, and whether you would like to contribute B&W art, color art, or color someone else's panels. To everyone who contributes, I'll be happy to return the favor with guest art or fan art (and links to your sites, of course).

Thanks (in advance)! ^_^

I would love to contribute with some art, all computer-coloured and everything. By me. Because I rule.

Here be my stats.

I'm willing to do a color panel or two, but my drawing style is far more "cartoony" than yours, if that matters.

Chris: How many panels would you like to do? Of 19 panels overall, there are still 9 unspoken for (including the one or two geoduck offered).

geoduck: I've seen your art, and I don't think it's too cartoony for a humor strip. I'd be happy to have you contribute a couple of panels! ^_^

I'll be posting a sort of FAQ about the 100th strip to the TW forum at http://www.chatarea.com/TashasWorld as well as the script (excluding the last panel, which I'll be drawing, anyway). If you have any preference about what panel(s) you want to draw, you can let me know there, okay?

Oh, the possibilities. I think I'll nab 4 panels, as that's pretty much the panel count I'm used to doing in my comic.

Great! I have the script up at http://www.chatarea.com/TashasWorld.m2554326

Just let me know which panels you want to draw. Panel 10 is spoken for by kisunekaboom of Explosive & Stuff. All other panel assignments are tentative, until they've been confirmed by the artists.

Unless you deliberately want character appearence to undergo a radical change with each new artist, you might want to add some descriptions of clothing, both inside the game and out. Even just something like "Tasha is wearing a blue shirt and black pants" would help make it a little more consistant.

And I don't really have a preference as to which panels I have.

That had actually occurred to me, too. I was debating whether to have the contributing artists communicate with each other re: wardrobe, to go by whatever the first artist to finish a panel drew them in, or to add it to the script. For now, anyway, I've added a paragraph of wardrobe suggestions to the script.
