WHAT HO!? I happen to be affiliated with the grand organization known to thousands as "Keenspot: The best place for comics, dammit!" And I certainly find this comic disgusting, disturbing, immoral, amoral, postmoral, premarital and autoerotic! I'm ashamed that someone would publish this filth. I am especially shocked that Darren would be portrayed as a filthy degenerate hippy, after all, we all know that Darren and Nate are Nerds, of the highest order, thus casting aside the hippy agenda in favor of faster bandwidth and larger joysticks. (as opposed to the faster highs and larger bongs popularized by the pinko-commie hippy faction) In closing I would like to say that my friend Chris Crosby weeped, naked, in my arms upon viewing this atrocious parody. Afterwards I think we had hot angry boy-sex on top of his 'Richie Rich' comic books, though I can't recall specifics, as I was so hopped up on methemphetamines. I would argue that the portrayal of Gav is actaully a tribute, not an insult. This image of Gav as filthy, scrawny, and stuck with a facial expression that looks like a Chihuahua on crack is a tip of the hat to Gav's nerd-ish living style. First, the scrawniness is because Gav obviously can't eat, since eating is a waste of time. Many Nerds and Geeks solve this problem by eating large amounts of unhealthy foods while working, thus creating the stereotype of the overweight Unix sysadmin, but others choose to solve the problem by simply not eating. Sometimes it is not so much a conscious choice as it is simply forgetting to eat.Whoops, forgot to mention the dialouge evidence the first time around. Every Geek is an anarchist at heart who hates the evil big businesses who ruin operating systems, censor our porn, and attempt to turn ICANN into an all powerful Intenet government so they can rule with an iron fist. That is, the Geek feels this way until the Geek becomes the Corporation. Every Geek also secretly harbors the dream of starting a mildly-succesful Internet company so they can live off of the cash gained from the IPO.Also, that thing in Gav's hand isn't a bong, but rather a tall, steaming glass of assorted stimulants. The filth is also a result of the quest for time. It is difficult to shower while typing (there are waterproof keyboards, but getting a box and monitor in there is still a bit tricky), so it is a generally accepted practice to simply not shower. This has the added bonus of repelling people who would doubtlessly only waste the Nerd's time. And lastly, the expression on Gav's face is obviously the result of some sort of stimulant overdose.
