If you're despairing over killing one or all of them, that's good. It means you've been doing your job in creating characters people care about, and I'm not sure there can be a greater accomplishment in storytelling than that.

Thanks, everybody! Glad to oblige.But don't congratulate me too much on any visual puns involving Alice; I didn't remember her (sorry, Glych!). Like I told Glych, I've had this idea since I first started reading her strip.And I looked for a "Cast" page to refresh my memory of Alice, but couldn't find one in the new design (Cast page, that is). Which, BTW, doesn't load completely in Netscape 4.7. Did you know that, Glych? Or, rather, it didn't load anything below the title bar. And it loaded garbled in Netscape 6.0.Just a heads-up.------------------

Not every reference needs to be hand delivered. Some of the better ones are subtle, like little rewards for the people who actually notice them.
