Hey -- I treasure my "Dukes of Hazzard" lunchbox.. I think every kid should be able to collect a new plastic lunchbox every year with silly show picture plastered on the front..

Yeah, but there's a limit....George Lucas (gotta' love him) invented the "merchandising" franchise we know and love today, but by doing so- he also is the genius behind such terrible things as Darth Maul Bubble Bath, and Spiderman Toothpicks 9no joke! They sell them in Japan)....*sigh* Sailor moon has her own candy, and somehow- X-Men (the movie) has their own bubble gum...shouldn't there be a limit or am the only one who thinks this is getting tasteless...
(I myself own a He-Man lunchbox with a Thundercat's thurmase from another lunchbox -lost the pairs of the others0...that' just cool!)
-glych
------------------

That's not the point glych, the point is, the same people that brought you cool revamped stories of Batman, Superman (and everyone knew that character had been digging itself into a grave), and...well, i won't even want to mention Batman Beyond...cause i still think it's crap. Anyway...a new outlook of the JLA is exciting to me. And i find it a tad bit odd that you're arguing against franchising and here we are set to take over the world with Perfect Limit. Go fig.

What pisses me off is the abscence of Aquaman from the upcoming show. If done right, he's a cool character!
As for "Beyond", it can be good, but they have done the "Carrie" plotline way too many times.
I saw an MST3K box on eBay...that would be so cool!

i guess that's true to some extent about raising the dead. but if those characters hadn't fallen into the hands of inept writers controlled by overwhelming editors, they never would have died. just my opinion. sure, they've done everything...but now they can change HOW they did it. Superman in the animated series is no where near the classic goody two shoes. You have a confident Clark Kent, and a Superman that DOESN'T have all the answers.
Glick...word is all the characters are in the series. Aquaman just isn't part of the league, which I'm guessing they'll probably be going toe to toe with ol' Aqua-dude. Personally, I'd dig it if Aquaman got his ol' school animated concussive air bubble attack (the original KaMaHaMeHa wave :P). Wonder Woman could use a major over haul. I had written a script about her, but, decided to focus on Perfect Limit. Maybe some day...

Yeah..you know my beef on Superman...that he has done everything..i think the same is true about JLA...I mean, you should let sleeping dogs lie, and dead dogs lie dead...and JLA is all but dead... Rather than keep resurrecting the dead (Batman, Supers, JLA, Spiderman, Cap't America) they should come up with new and improved ideas...like Perfect Limit...I beleive in Perfect Limit, because it hasn't been done before. Yeah, we have "Stereotypes" in it, but each iwth a twist to them..you know what they are
That is why I'm bothered about this...Also, I'm not arguing against franchise, only tasteless franchise... figurings are one thing, edible figureings that play with themselves, blow bubbles, and hack the internet for you are something esle intirely....what the hell ever happened to those old Transformers toys where yoy had to change them yourselves....I swear, I saw a "Beast wars" toy the other day in K&B that transformed in front of you...Technology, AI, and Androids are one thing...but this was just an atomoton....and that sickens me...especially, that 3 cents worth of plastic is going for $35 ....
No wonder parents buy video games for their kids instead of toys...video games are a set rate for all...
-glych
------------------

You don't know the theme to the SUPERFRIENDS!?!? my gawd woman, get thee to downloading the song, "The Time Is Now"...all right, I'll admit JLA had some pretty lame stereotypical characters...one's that pop in my head are the Indian dude that grew really big saying "Elek chop!" and then they had the El Dorado dude, man that was lame...but come on...Samurai was cool..."KAZI YO NI HAYAKU!" *flies around on a tornado* hahaha...And all your favorite books are based on stereotypes, not just ethnic or gender based ones.
I agree with the evil person...it's really up to us to make kids believe that they can fly and save the world.
as for that anime inspired gibberish. NO IT ISN'T, get off your anime trip ali, it's dead!!! dead i tell you!!! anime is soooooooo DEAD! did i mention it was dead? i go poo poo on your anime and flush it in offering to the porcelain god. JLA animated is inspired from Batman and Superman (particularly superman)--they're just sticking it in toonami cause most of the animation is done in Korea. Or some dumb thing like that. BAH!
*transforms and rolls out*

If you have the Spider-Man theme stuck in your head, you owe it to yourself to go on Napster and download Moxy Fruvous' a capella cover of it. Trust me. =D
------------------

Wow. Never before have I disagreed with you as much as I do with your opinion on JLA, and the keeping alive of comic charactes.
These people are icons. They REPRESENT comic books. It is the job of writers and artists to make these characters relatable so many years after creation, and above all, still resemble the ideals they held all those years ago. And frankly, JLA does this better than most superhero books out there.
Now, I don't want to get off on a rant here, but in modern comic books, every former long underwear wearing boy scout seems to me losing their powers and gaining ammo. Yet within this realm of irrelevant makeovers, we find true gems such as Detective comics, Action Comics, JLA, X-Men and Ultimate Spider-Man. The truly great writers breathe new and excting life into amazing characters, and I am ever more thankful for it.
Don't get me wrong, I'm sure Perfect Limit is a well done book, and Preacher, Powers, and Hitman have been sitting on my reading table more and more, but lets make those icons iconic again.
Except for the American Flag. Thats done. GW burned it, shat on it, then snorted a line of coke and flew off.
------------------

*Looks at her ever growing collection of anime* .. Well, if it's dead it's doing a darn good imitation of life. ^_^
