well, we'd better get some action soon, I wanna burn something(one?)!

capnregex, this guy talking to Jake, what is your purpose with this, is it just to get Jake talking or were you intending on taking it somewhere? I ask because at this point Jake could go in any number of directions and I wanna know where and what you were thinking of.

personally I think it would be best if you responded how jake would take it.

1) trying to keep jake involved in the rp.. it gets booring if you end up just observing.
2) Keeping in character for the town, they really do care.
3) They are going to want Jake with them rather than not.

As for the RP, I think it's going fine, I'd rather not have to roll dice for hand to hand combat for an entire town/army.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad you're all enjoying it (even if there have been no burning opportunities yet. )

Ok, the posts have been unclear, has the monk left the council chamber?

No, Robert is still there. I wasn't sure if the Council wanted to say anything.

Well the hair's all there, but it's getting gray. I just turned the Big 3-0 last December, so I'm still a young-un to some of you.

You're older than me....old....oldddd...OLLLLLLLLLDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!
Careful, Madmoonie - might not be such a good idea to taunt someone who can make your life downright miserable around here...

Hey, now at least you know someone's reading. :D --

Dang it! Why'd you have to go and warn him?

BTW, how do you like the story so far, WF?

Because that way you get to watch him squirm first?

Well, by my (very, very brief) analysis, I'd say you haven't quite gotten into the story proper as of yet. It still feels like the introduction and groundwork-laying. But I'd also say you're right on the verge of the real beginning - maybe once the charges are read publicly the conflict will be revealed fully enough for it to feel like the beginning to me ('course it's part of the point of holding some things in reserve, but right now everyone's not really on the same page. And they may not fully be after the charges are read, but it seems like it will be closer). But you've got an interesting set-up with some good potential ground open to you, and I'm looking forward to seeing background filled in for the things that have been brought forward.

Okay, so maybe it wasn't "very, very brief" - it really only merits one "very."

But hey, it's what you get for asking. (Even more what you get for asking when I'm in a mood to procrastinate on stuff...)

Edit:

Do I want to, or should I? Very, very different questions.
This kind of RP seems really fun to me, and sometime I'd like to join one. But I'm not sure what I would do for this, and I'm really not sure it would be a good idea with school right now. I've thought about asking (a while ago in the NPC forum, and again since this started), but... :-?

If you do want to join and need an idea for a character, let me know. I've got just a smidge of experience there. 8-)

Oh, and if you think this is interesting, you ain't seen nothin' yet.

Gah.. I need more names for people.. Playing a town can be kinda hard yaknow?

K, Names I would like.. I'm thinking historical names...

So far..

The Council Leader:
two or three other members of council.
The oldest member of council ( father ):

The gentleman with Jake:

I've got a database of Arthurian names... that's about as historical as it gets, since my reformatting of my computer has left my better name generator inoperable. In no particular order, because this thing doesn't work that way...

Gwanigne, Harbilles, Linnan, Pinias, Godailon, Ulant, Pelusie, Unan, Teres, Cle, Mastant, Againe, Bais, Berianon, Berason, Bralagris, Galare, Herippe, Nelile, Crallas, Dunon, Evian, Anon, Artant and Leolais

Here is a website that I use a bunch for my name generating. I found it pretty useful:

You know, Selden, before I read the tail end of your last post I was about to (when it was my turn) to have Deac stare at Toma and say something like that's great but I think he wants us to follow him. Sorry, I kinda found it funny.

Thanks much, but not having ideas isn't really the main problem. The main problem is really focus for school... which I'm short on anyway... but which starting with an RP (especially a serious and longer-running one) would definitely not help. :)
I'll continue to enjoy reading, though. :D

There has never been any record of a simple magician capable of magically afflicting somebody with lycanthropy, let alone creating a new species of lycanthrope.
Um ... actually it is a spell. At least, in 2nd Edition it was, I'm not sure about 3rd.
