"Hey! Wait up a bit!" John called, trying to pull Grannom away from his fallen steak. Grannom protested, but soon gave up and resumed his post on John's shoulder. John then took off at a run to catch up with the group.

Toma looks around to make sure nobody dropped anything in their haste, then hurries to catch up, muttering to himself all the way. Time travel? Planar travel? Some sort of invisible teleportation portal that dropped him somewhere far east of anywhere he's traveled to? Whatever it is, he's clearly not where he intended to be... which makes it all the more important to tag along with somebody who at least seems to know what he's doing, and to keep holding his cards close.

Deac winces at Will's tune and punches him softly. He then mutters softly at Will, "If you start noticing lions, tigers, and bears, and exclaiming how surprising it is, I am going to start singing theatre tunes." He then looks at Vlad and ask, "Just how far is this villiage, may I ask?"

Will laughs heartily at being punched. "Oh I duno, if the song fits.... "
Leaving the rest unsaid, he grins and chuckles a little more..

after he recovers from his mirth, he comments.. "Well, we won't have to worry about Lions, Tigers and Bears around here atleast, An occasional wolf perhaps..."

"We should make it to town before nightfall atleast.. "

OOC: Hmm, should I describe the terain from my immagination? or ...

Deac says nothing but sticks his tongue at Will, and trudges along, still munching noisily on his apple.

OOC: Umm.......how do we determine how much distance we covered or for that matter, do we have go through every step of the way or can we fastforward to the key points in the trip or something? We need a mun thread. And a title for our RP. How about "Dinner Party?"

William takes a step, then another one.. The next step rustles some blades of grass, the one after that lands on firm ground.
As he steps, he starts to hum in step to his pace..
After a moment you place the song..
"The soldiers go marching on again, Hurah, Hurah..."

He soon lets the tune die out...

He takes another step, then another, then another after that...

Toma tries to weave around to the front of the group, since he's never yet heard of paladins, clerics or sorcerers who could be bothered to honestly look for upcoming problems. Given the array of tunes being hummed, it'd be just likely for Cap'n Will Barbary to trip over a snoring troll who fell asleep with his feet in the road. Just give me a home where easy marks roam...

Deac walks just behind Toma and to the left. He seems to be looking at the ground, but instead of looking for trouble he is listening for it. His large boots move along at a silent steady pace. Briefily, he looks up in the sky and stops. The group moves a small distance down the road while Deac hurridly scan the trees and then jogs to catch up with his place in the group.

The sun has already moved on in its travel across the heavens, about an hour or two, by Deac estimation. Thr group moves with light-hearted chatter, with Deac popping in comments every so often. After a time, the group winds their way trees and comes a bit of a clearing on the side of the large mountain they are traveling on. At its edge the road continues and travels on into a long deep valley, nestled between several large mountains in the range. And at the very far-end of the valley nests a village, small smoke trails and lights that can be seen as the day moves further into afternoon.

OOC: IMHO. Considering the time period / tech levels, most of the people would have learned the skills needed to tell time to within the hour easily by the position of the sun. Possibly to within the quarter hour..
A woman with a sundial in her windowsill ( consisting of a pole, and a mark for noon ) would be able to time her baking with it.
They may not think of it as hours and minutes though.. (shrug)

Going to start a proper Mun thread, I kinda like this one for the RP since it's evolved that way.

Deac moves further down into the valley, then realizes that he is alone. He stomps back to the group, still waiting on the overlook of the valley. "You guys coming or not?" he barks at them.

Toma stands idly by. "Every place has different customs, Deac. If Will wants to just stand here awhile, I'm sure he's got some reason. I'd rather not get into town just ahead of the native guide, as it were, so I'll wait for his signal."

Will pauses a moment to watch the village, seeming to be taking in the beauty of it all..

After a fiew moments, several birds are heard.

A fiew moments later people in the village look up at the pass where the group is..

The bird calls start up again, and a moment later, a young lad around 12-13 stands up from the ground practically underfoot. He looks as if he is wearing the ground, as his clothes are covered with bits of leaves and grass and things..

"Ahoy there Cap'n" he says to Will, with a grin..

Will responds with "Ahoy there Seamus, Go tell 'Happy' we have dinner guests, and how many."

Seamus says "Aye Aye Cap'n" with plenty if attitude, and is off like a shot.

Will then turns to his companions.. "Tried my hand at building a boat when I was a little younger. It was under 4 spans long, and only had room for two, maby three people. Nearly sank her the first time I tried to sail..."
"Now everybody calls me "Cap'n" ....

Will shakes his head and mutters to himself..

"Well, we may as well get going.. " he says, before putting one foot infront of the other, again.

Deac frowns a little because even he did not notice the small boy, who pratically under his boot. But then he shrugs and gets over it. "So tell me Cap'n," Deac chirps at Will, "Is the road to your village paved with small children underfoot?"

Toma adjusts his backpack, leaning toward Vlad as he does so. "How much y'wanna bet those 'birds' are warriors and archers? This must be a real safe place at night," he mutters.
