I enjoy playing an ascii-text graphics rpg called ADOM. Just for the fun of it, I created Quentyn Quinn as a character and played him to see how far he would get. Oh dear! He was doing great until a boulder fell from the ceiling of the cave. :o Poor Quentyn! I guess that's how the dice roll sometimes. :(

Anyway, here is the "memorial file" for his adventure (modified afterward to fit Questorverse).

Later on, I'll try it again to see if I can do better. (It's incredibly easy to get killed in this game! :-?)

But in the meantime, why don't you try it? Start up your favorite RPG game that has reportable results (or perhaps play a dice game and keep track of your achievements), and play as your favorite character from RHJunior's comics. Here are some ideas: Quentyn the paladin, Kestrel the alchemist/metalsmith, Colin the beastfighter, the Frogmage, Nip the firemage, Tuck the archer, Thelma the monk (weaponless fighter), Hortense the drakeling, etc. Play a game, then put the results of that game as a post here, even if the game didn't go as well as you had liked.

Here, I played another game as Hortense Lizard. She's my favorite character from Nip and Tuck. (Yes, I know she has flaws that get on people's nerves, but I like her! :D)

In this game, I made her a druid because it seemed to fit her personality, and it's one of the few occupations where almost none of the animals attack you. I sent her on the same quest that Quentyn was on (to rescue the little girl's cute doggie from the evil dungeon). And now for the sad part. :( She was doing good until she ran into one of those floating eyeball monsters, which paralized her, and a kobold* finished her off. :x (As I said before, it's very easy to die in this game.)

*In this game, a kobold is a cross between a goblin and a very annoying, yappy dog.

You mean a Beholder or a Gather or an OddEye or a BigEye?

Sorry about that... I tend to play Final Fantasy (the Nintendo ones.)

*runs before a hail of bricks ensue*

I don't know how long my longest lived character has survivevd but I think the highest level I achieved was like level 5 or something.

usually they are all female and all drakelings and all elementalists.

the longer lived ones found a projectile weapon and was able to use that too, yeah I like hitting em from a distance where they can't get me.

Been a while since I played ADOM, though not as long as since I played Angband. When I'm in a roguelike mood, I usually go for NetHack (I think the farthest I've ever gotten without using the save file cheat is about dlvl 12).

That's fine. I like Final Fantasy as well. I've played #5, I've beaten #6 (also called #3), I've played a little of #7, and I've beaten #10.

Yeah, those flying eyeball monsters are really annoying.

Yeah. This game is a hard one. First of all, there are no inns, so that was two days of walking around. Also, you're pretty much the only person in your party, so there are no Phoenix Downs.

Well, I played the game again, this time as Roz the poodle from Goblin Hollow. I made her an archer. (Can anyone guess why?)

She made it all the way to the cave where the cute doggy was, but the cute doggy died before she could rescue it. Shortly thereafter, she got eaten a group of giant spiders. :-?

I'm sorry for all of this morbidness, everyone, but I'm just trying to sucessfully rescue the little girl's cute doggy. If I can sucessfully do that, then I'll quit.

what is the mission you usually take on first, the puppy-cave mission is usually the one I go on first off. (and die trying unless the cave is small and I have to find a secret passage somewhere that is so well hidden I can't get it.

**Whew!** I finally rescued the cute puppy dog and returned it safe and sound to the little girl in the village. Yay! Icecream for everyone, including Astral!

I'm guessing that it's a big metal bommerang ninja-star thingy that you throw.
