A new reader of "Under the Lemon Tree"

I don't see any other 'Hey, I'm a newbie" posts, so I guess I'll risk one... I listened to an interview with Howard Tayler, who mentioned the Schlock Mercenary crossover, so being a big Schlock fan, I came over here to take a look.
Several hours of reading the whole run of the strip later...
I like.
The personified aspects of Ben's personality are a fun concept I hadn't run into before. I really liked that Ben was concerned enough about them to ask his pastor, and that his pastor gave him good, reasonable advice.
And dropping a house on Beltane... Priceless!
I thought the "Clown of Condemnation" sequence just after the very fun Schlock Mercenary crossover was powerful. Good stuff!
I've got one question:
Did I miss a strip somewhere? I didn't see one where Lily meets Ben's parents. (I was a slightly disappointed in the wedding being off-stage, but what the heck, the "Ben's slow bootup in the morning" joke required the readers not to know aout the wedding yet. And there's always the possibility of a flashback.)

Unfortunatly, as far as I know, when never saw Lily meet Ben's parents. I really happy that you like the strip. You know, it is interesting...when I first found the strip, it seemed like autobiography for my life. Ben's life, social setting and experiences, not to metion workplace were all very similar to mine. This comic really spoke to me. I am sure the others when they get here will say the same. One of the greatest things about RH's work is the sheer re-readablity of it. I have read Goblin Hollow over and over again, at least three times, and each time it gets better. Mentioning that, I would HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend reading RH's other comics, especially Tales of the Questor. It is a great fantasy comic about.....well....racoons, but it is absolutely wonderful. It is great to have another forum member, so welcome to the arena! Leave your sanity at the door and have fun!
Oh, and one more thing: Under no circumstances feed Solidus........he.....he bites.

And don't give Solidus any potentualy destructive items or ideas either!
If it gets political, you'd better be fire proof or enironment sheilded.
Other than that, sit back and enjoy your insanity! Welcome!

Welcome! Be sure to check out all of Ralph's comics while you are at it.
Nice hair - haven't had many Centauris stop by to the best of my knowledge.

Interesting! For me, it was the opposite. I had been reading Under The Lemon Tree for some time when he started the crossover, and so, I went to read Schlock Mercenary from the beginning. I read it daily now.

Heh...you should have read the forum when it happened. We all had heart attacks. But, yeah, Ralph has promised us flashbacks to when Lili meets Ben's parents, and the wedding.

I think half the readers would have killed me at that point, only it would have stopped the flow of comics...

I remember when I first saw that I was really horrified -- cause for one thing, I didn't recognize the naked lioness he was in bed with with her hair down! :p

I can imagine... Having it all to read at once is a very different experience from waiting 3-4 days or a week for the next installment.
I just finished reading the other two strips -- I'm not a "furry fan", or much of a fantasy fan in general, but I do like good stories, and these are good. The segment in "Questor" where Quentyn has problems dealing with having killed the 'gators was really great. And the guy going as a missionary to the 'gators was marvelous. It's
reallly refreshing to see these kinds of stories done from a Christian perspective!
Gack! Now I have to wait days for each new installment!! Gack!!

"I killed them, mama..." Oh yeah. Sometimes, a boy just needs his mother.

I loved that story. I hope that was not the last we see of Linnaeus.

Hahahaha! One of us!
