Poor Penny! I don't know. She might as well make the best of it. She could be Berzerker Pixie.

According to a friend of mine, she'd be better off as a Rogue. Rogue pixies have insane Armor Class (AC) because of their small size. Makes them harder to hit.

Lends new meaning to Mohammed Ali's old saying...

Float like a butterfly; sting like a bee.

Or she could just unleash her special attack... Gothic Angst!

Let's see if she can stand up to a good-fashioned fly-swatter!
Or better yet, a canning jar like in a certain movie sequel that had

Couldn't Ben have given Penny something innocuous. . .like a gnoll? Ye gods, what a munchkin can do with a pixie. . . And that's just her race. She could still be a sorceress. . .a nearly unstoppable sorceress. Of course, this may be the only way that a disinterested newbie can survive.

If Penny still doesn't want to play a pixie, I'm sure the resident power gamer would be happy to trade.

Has anyone played the game ADOM? It's a one-player ASCII game similar to Rogue or Nethack.

Sometimes, I like to make silly characters, like Deathblade the hobbit assassin or Daisy the troll bard. (When she asks you how her dress looks, you'd better say something nice.)

It's a shame they don't have any animal Player Characters. When I play as my character Yuoo, I usually make him a high elf. I usually make him a druid, since most of the animals don't attack you, or sometimes a priest. (I mean, I keep away from praying to deities in this game since none of them are really God, but still I like with the priest represents.)

They -do- have animal PC's possible now. Check Savage Species.
