Yes, sir. I agree completely. It takes a well-balanced individual... such as yourself to rule the world. No, sir. No one knows that you were the third one... Solidus. ...What should I do about the woman? Yes sir. I'll keep her under surveillance. Yes. Thank you. Good-bye...... Mr. President.

But it'd be so much more fun to do it ourselves! I can see it now:

"Goblin Hollow: The Coloring Book."

And the other most recent commission pic of Lily (yes, that one) shall most definitely need to be included, so as to attract the male crowd.

Vinyl... Feh... Y'get your stylus caught in a freakin' BUBBLE in that cheap soft vinyl plastic and you'll know what I'm talkin' about...

In other news, I've succeeded in repairing my record player. I've connected the output of the turntable's preamp to the line input of my computer, saved old music complete with pops and hiss from cheap and rather badly-worn vinyl as a WAV file, and burned it to a CD! Yes!!!

It helps to rub furniture polish into the record before playing it. I pledge it!

A sample (About 3.5 Mb filesize): http://www.sysmatrix.net/~karls/Tempora ... acabre.mp3
Hmmm. Apollo 100 if I'm not mistaken. And it sounds like your turntable is a slight bit fast.

Very good! You are correct on both counts!
I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the turntable - the rubber idler is peeling loose from its center spindle, which gives it a slightly larger diameter. I'll have to get creative on this one.

Apollo 100 came out with that one LP, and then disappeared (so far as I can tell) from local earthspace. I've also transferred an ABBA album (starting with the A's alphabetically) to CD some time ago, just so I could occasionally play "Waterloo" loud in my truck with the windows rolled down. It confuses people. That's reason enough.

Maybe next I'll burn the "Lydia" song to a CD...

You must work at a PBS station, they are always pledging things.

lightly sandpaper the idler wheel and wipe with alchohol for a better grip, then use some kind of tape to build up the drive spindle.

One hit and gone?

What about Walter De Los Rios and his version of Mozart's Symphony No. 40 In G Minor or The Assembled Multitude's Overture from Tommy?

I'm almost an expert at one hit wonders and novelty records.

I think the song that put Apollo 100 on the map was Bach's "Joy de Jesus" (Joy) wasn't it? I remember it very well because I tried to learn how to play it. They did one album to the best of my memory but then, as you said they disappeared.

Remember "Popcorn" by Hot Butter? They also did one album and disappeared.

Good Good, Well at least the advent of new tech has helped this music stay around.

I was going to put that down as well but didn't. Some things were regional and didn't get the airplay in other areas.

Anyone remember "300 Watt Music Box" by Michaelangelo or "Run Run Run" by the Third Rail?

I have the Hot Butter LP album and it's in excellent shape, but never found the Apollo 100 one.

WOW Squeaky....you're talkin' about some REALLY obscure music...I vaguely remember the songs, but can't recall the actual tunes.......you don't mean to tell me you have 45's of them...... :o :D

Some 45's, some LP's, some tape media. Mostly in mp3's now.

I would have posted "Joy" but I felt "Danse Macabre" better suited the current storyline.
I mean... There were 11 tunes on that album. Couldn't post 'em all...

Hmmm... Maybe I should have chosen "Libido" in honor of Lydia?

By the way, I'd like to find an mp3, or even an ogg, of "Popcorn".
Or maybe "Telstar"? That was kind of catchy.

Have 3 different versions of "Popcorn" I'm assuming you want Hot Butter's original?

Give me a day to create the MP-3's from the LP...(after I get back from work)...I'll try and have them for you by tomorrow (Friday) night. PM me your email addy.

The Tornadoes from the UK made the original "Telstar". "Walk Don't Run" was the Ventures.

"Out of Limits", Sleepwalk, Apache, Wonderful Land, Mmmm, it's all good.
