Oh I know. I'm a lesbian, not a dyke. The difference is that the former can be perfectly friendly with men, they just aren't interested in getting in bed with them. Dykes are pissed with men. Be it a rape experiance, too much toxic feminism, or just they think they're entitled makes little difference. I think they're just too masculine myself. :

And I'd be happy to get you coffee, if you'll get me a Mtn Dew.

Ah, you poor thing...you have obviously never discovered the joys of Irn Bru, "Scotland's Other National Drink". If you want your caffeine in megadoses, this here's the thing.Sharuuk wrote:<snip>...the Mtn Dew is only 'cause I couldn't find a Jolt.

Silly boy, you can probably find Irn Bru locally in any brit food store or get it at Amazon.com. I think there's a place in Old Town that has it.Sharuuk wrote:Dear heart.....would it be possible to (legally) send me a couple of cans, or a 6 pack? I love ginger beer and some stuff from Italy called Beverly.

Yes, sir. I agree completely. It takes a well-balanced individual... such as yourself to rule the world. No, sir. No one knows that you were the third one... Solidus. ...What should I do about the woman? Yes sir. I'll keep her under surveillance. Yes. Thank you. Good-bye...... Mr. President.

Actually I think that goes for just about every culture outside of Utah and the middle east. It's funny but probably accurate that archeologists suspect so much agricultural development was not done for the sake of survival and food stores, but simply to produce enough inebriants to keep every one happy!

Now that makes me wonder just exactly what kind of first alcohol experience you two had?!
My first "hard" drink was a well made and chilled Mai Tai. Made with a smooth dark rum....it was delicious.....my only mistake was 4 or 5 of them with little more than finger foods to eat.
Oh yeah, I felt like hell the next morning, thought I was going to die, and was scared that I wouldn't.
That taught me moderation....but I loved the drinks. Maybe the fact that I rarely ever do shots and usually stick to mixed drinks might have something to do with my enjoyment.....and I never go out with the express intention of getting smashed. Probably the fact that I rode a motorcycle exclusively for many years has something to do with that mindset. Driving drunk in a car is idiotic.....driving drunk on a bike is suicidal.
I do enjoy my alcohol, but as I said in moderation, and my two current favorites are Long Island Ice Tea, and Coke with Meyers Dark Rum and a twist of lime.......yum!

I just never could stand the taste of it, and I want to keep full control of my mental facilities.

99% of the time I have to stay in complete control of my faculties....my job demands it...for that 1% left over, I enjoy a little inebriation either with friends or relaxing in front of a movie, or geeking around with some of my gadgets.

Y'know, I can understand Sharuuk's atitude there. When you're in a position of continual responsibility, when you aren't allowed to do ANYTHING that might reduce your efficiency or the speed of your response to an emergency... When you don't go to a movie or buy a restaurant dinner because you might get called while enjoying it... Sometimes when you're finally off-duty you might want to have a drink just to prove to yourself that yes, you CAN relax now.
Avoid those who speak badly of the people, for such wish to rule over you.
