Another burning question

Post by Fusion »

Now that I am graduating I have been wondering, are the cap and gown supposed to look redicules?

Yes.
Yes, sir. I agree completely. It takes a well-balanced individual... such as yourself to rule the world. No, sir. No one knows that you were the third one... Solidus. ...What should I do about the woman? Yes sir. I'll keep her under surveillance. Yes. Thank you. Good-bye...... Mr. President.

Do you suppose the parents just want to get a final kick out of us?

Seriously, the cap and gown date back nearly a thousand years now - the proper clothing for scholars in medieval times, when one's clothing was prescribed by one's profession. It remained the uniform for graduation even after fashions and clothing rules moved on.

After a thousand years of fashion changes, the traditional outfit does indeed look ridiculous...

i love it when a story or other refers to past times and history. like lord of the rings, there is a lot of historic stuff that happened before the time of the lord of the rings taking place, unfortunately though when traditions and stuff happens here it can get boring or downright emberrasing.
I still say the doctor did it....

Your post had me laughing at the irony of it all.
Thanks.

Bah, I never went to mine. Had my diploma mailed and never had anything to do with that place again.

That's how I was back in High School. I didn't buy a yearbook, didn't sign anyone else's, just walked out and never looked back at that chaotic mess. Then I went to a two-year technical school to learn electronics theory and design / maintenance. Eight hours a day for two years... Nothing but tech. I loved it and graduated in the top 5.

i've never cared either way, just another dressup game someone else is making me play when i'd rather play my own games.

land of the free? one false move and people take a massive chunk out of your reputation, or your legal standing, or your money, or your position on earth, or all of the above!

And in some shady back allies, they'll take a chunk out of you. :o Scary, ain't it?
I'm lost. I've gone to find myself. If I should return before I get back, please ask me to wait. Thanks.

with so many rules and regulations, i think i'd rather be... well, i'd honestly rather be out and around the farm fighting a couple minor monsters from eating all the crops or taking a bite or two outta me then have to deal with all these laywers and laws and rules that nobody tells you about.

one of the best weapons in the law industry is not telling anyone about the rules we're supposed to be following.
