Never trust a bear to run the snack stand.
Yes, sir. I agree completely. It takes a well-balanced individual... such as yourself to rule the world. No, sir. No one knows that you were the third one... Solidus. ...What should I do about the woman? Yes sir. I'll keep her under surveillance. Yes. Thank you. Good-bye...... Mr. President.

Unless he's smarter than the average bear!
:D :) :o
No! Wait! That only makes it worse!
Plus, is that Merry that Lily is talking to? Are we about to see some of the Old Gang? Yay!

Well, they were all sorta in on harassing the "Dingbat" during that whole Christmas fiasco. So it's fairly probable that they either quit or got fired themselves soon after and joined up. Besides, Fred is a co-owner I believe. We'll be seein' more of "long ears" before too long.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't be surprised if we saw someone show up and try to shut down Goblin Hollow, probably on some trumped up charges or over something political. Like how video games "corrupt youth" and "turn them violent" and such. Even though most of the ones he has are bloodless classics that sometimes involve someone or something gettin' blown up.

*sigh* Wish some parents would stop over-reacting when their kid suddenly points their finger and goes, "Bang!" at them. The world would be better off.
I'm lost. I've gone to find myself. If I should return before I get back, please ask me to wait. Thanks.

That would be really stupid if someone tried to shut down the arcade.

I agree that people overreact when it comes to firearms. I'm willing to bet that most of those who blow thier top, so to speak, have never seen a gun in real life.

I finally took my first handgun course just last month (at the ripe age of 20) and would be thrilled if I could practice at teh range more. Ah, but poor college students wish for alot of things these days. :)

To most of us, probably. But to them it's vitally important. That's what's so sad. They actually think they're doing what's good and right.

Of course, there's also the jerks who would want to shut it down for completely personal reasons, like wanting the land, or the building, or the money that people are spending at the arcade.

Didn't that strip club used to be a video arcade?

Well, yes, but they had it shut down because it was a "corrupting influence".

Let's hope this never happens.

So far, the closest I'm aware of is a mall arcade that shut down (financial reasons, not AFAIK harassment by self-appointed Moral Guardians) and was replaced by a Frederick's of Hollywood... 8)

The arcade at one nearby mall has been shut down several times, usually for the same reason. The local gangs start hanging out there. Then someone starts 'dealing' there. THen trouble spreads out to the rest of the mall.
Basically, the owner at the time apparently didn't care what went on there, as long as the machines made money.
Don't take this wrong, but I would really really really like to see some gang toughs try that at Goblin Hollow.
In the early days, on the street, the toughs took out Ben. On his home turf, where he and the posse can play mind games on 'em?

Back on topic, Ben is now his own boss, but so is Lilly. She went from running the stores snack bar to her own.
What sort of changes would she make?
Healthier snacks for the kids? Wider variety? Microwavable elephant ear sandwiches?

Sound's like Prof. Harold Hill's pitch on the pool table wasn't so far off the mark after all.

I wager it be Beltane or that girl that stripped herself nude to protest... get those fire extiguishers
chilled and ready. Solidus... convert that freeze gun to non-lethal mode and have it on stand-by.

Nothing beats the home-turf advantage. And with psychological warfare added with it...

Yep... Was it the classic "Music Man" starring Robert Preston or the new one with Matthew Broderick? :-?
