the best fighting game i was ever really good at was super smash bro's melee, which is odd, considering that i don't own a game cube or the ssbm game itself and have only played it twice!
still fighting as yoshi it took three other players playing as pikachu to defeat me, otherwise they were too busy fighting each other to worry about me and i just cleaned up the mess.

He he! My friends don't like pica 'cause he is weak. But I like to let them get in a pile up and then jump in with his lightning move. Boy do they go flying!

the real reason they ganged up on me was cause of my fighting style,
i learn what moves i can and then use the most effective one over and over, that is the move they see the most.
they ganged up on me using pikachus cause the move i used the most was yoshi's head slam (the one where he jumps and then slams his head straight down)(shouldn't he get a headache after a while?) then i use his various other moves.
i also like using yoshi because his "grap" move is to toung/eat his enemies and start chewing, that is disturbing to most players when your opponent is in the process of chewing you up (why doesn't he swallow?) when the opponent gets disturbed like that he/she also starts getting sloppy and it's time for me to clean up after the mess. heh heh hehhh...

I'm not very good, but I am good enough to be anoying by using a move over and over. You would think that they would learn never to stand on a platform above me.

At the same time if it is one on one, I usualy get wouped. Now there are some circomstances that I usualy win with (ie: I have beam sword

). Since I have the anoying abilities to usualy get back on the platform and stay out of action I usualy don't come in last (not to say I don't come in third a lot though

).
ps: I can usualy beat my friend if he uses yoshie. But their is no way to beat him if he uses Link (unless you are my other friend using Kirby, then it is a toss up who is better).

mybest defence is knowing what moves the "other guy" has and knowing where is still safe
link for example has some areas that are easier for him to hit then others,
pikachu of course has his normal "hopping spark" and "thunder" which basically covers horizontal and vertical, but if i can pull off a "head slam" with yoshi 'near(but not necessarily above)' the pikachu, the collateral damage will connect and i will still be uninjured.
that and hitting the down+b so yoshi turns into a giant egg and starts rolling around is a great way of declaring a certain platform or territory as your own so long as you can maintain control of it.
the deadliest position for yoshi is against a cliff edge facing away from it, one quick toung and egg (a simple tap on the b button) and if the enemy is in range it is an instant kill!
as yoshi i am the image of death!
mwahahahahahahaha!!!

Once, when I played a fighter game, I found I could win every match by using this one character and hitting the same button repeatedly. I was untouchable until my brother-in-law used some actual strategy and mopped the floor with me. Still, it was a lot of button-mashing fun.

I hate button-mashers. All they do is pound the buttons and hope something happens. I may not stratigize much, but I can get past button-mash attacks for some pain on their part. Let me gess, you were using Flash in Justice Leage. Painfully cheap.
I usualy activate the thunder in mid-air, so I am falling into an opponet. I usualy can get the lighting to strike right when I touch down making it difficult to hit me. My friend is has only gotten me with that egg over the edge once. Now I annoy him with long range attacks when he sets up for it. Yoshie has limited range so Samus and Fox work well against him too. Tip, never use Falcon against Yoshie. You'll get sent over the edge in no time.

Actually, it was something along the lines of Tekken or Mortal Kombat [sic]. I didn't know that other one was a fighting game; but, thanks for the tip!
Of course, I don't really like fighting games. I gravitate more towards puzzle games and RPG's that focus more on exploration than fighting.

when you stick with one move that works, most tend to focus on just countering that move. then when they finally get a strategy that works against it you come busting out with all the other moves you know against em. always a couple of steps ahead of the competition.

Well crap. There goes the world.
If ya don't mind, I'm gonna use my finances towards buying a very secure bunker... or maybe just rent out space in shyal_malkes' place for the next century or so.
Oi vey... if my Cooper knock-off character ever learns I was involved with this, I'll be seeing the wrong end of his (hookless) cane...

He already met one sick individual that helped Clockwerk.
It was not pleasant.

Cool... this HAS to be one of the most fun cases of thread hijacking I've seen.
In other news, I know WAY too many people who've invented their own universe(s) with the weaponry to go with it.
