The Classic "Get so pissed off i forget what im doing/holding" gag. Nice way to escape the problem tho, dropping the house on her accidentally. But then she was dumb enough to stand under it as well. o.O So, two stupid moves equal one wakko in the hospital, it seems. o.O

I suspect she's just badly shaken. Those decorative things are usually hollow, so she's inside the empty space.

Not that she doesn't -deserve- to be hurting... stupidity of that magnitude really ought to be directly painful.

Yea, but if it were, youd have a CRAPLOAD of a lot more applicants for the Darwin Awards.

Hmm, I thought it was the other way around.

I'd like to take a moment to say how proud I am that no one here has stooped low enough to make a 'Wizard of Oz' joke about that last strip.

With all the cracks over the last couple of strips, witches, brooms, flying monkeys, the house falling on her was really inevitable. Funny, but inevitable.

"Begone! Before someone drops a house on you!"
That's probably my favorite line from that movie.

Bravo for Ben! He is so fired for this, but hey, if you gotta go, go out with a bang!

I knew a wiccan in highschool, so this line of comics has me twitching a little. All I can hope for at this point is a coven picketing the store. For one thing, most of the holidays we celibrate today were converted from other religions, or just share months. (Paginism, wiccan, etc.) In this case, we have Christmass, Hanukkah, and Winter Solstice. That last one, unless I'm mistaken, is celebrated by wiccans. If anyone knows for sure, let me know.

...anyone remember the name of the Good Witch?

Her name was Glenda.

Glenda. (Edit - Argh. Ya beat me to it, LoneWolf!)

I have a request - can we PLEASE not start the pros and cons of Pagans versus Christianity again? Starcat - if you REALLY want to see some in-depth discussion (and flame wars) regarding this issue, please check out the two recently locked topics (locked for a reason, I should add)'Freedom From Religion' and 'Beltane or the Boss', and also 'Frizzy Haired Dingbat' and 'Drop The House on Her, Ben'.

If you STILL feel the urge to discuss this topic, then all I can say is that I warned you. :-?

Or Galinda, depending. Coincidentally, I just got done reading "Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West". It explains her backstory, the flying monkeys, even hints at why the cowardly lion is cowardly. Everyone's character get major revision... except Dorothy's. She stays the innocent wide-eyed girl from Kansas, right up to the point where she kills the witch by trying to save her.

As to the other thing... I'd like to suggest something here that I encourage in all other forums. Documentation. If you want to refute another person's point, it really helps to list your sources. Otherwise, it ends up being like an argument between two children: "Is Not!" and "Is So!", ad nauseum.

Actually, while that can work in most cases, religion and politics are exceptions to the rule. Christians point to the New Testament, Jews point to the Old testament (the Torah, right, TGIF?), Muslims point to the Koran, and atheists and pagans point to their own sources, and most sides couldn't care less about each other's references. The same with politics - each side has its own sources, none of which mean jack-squat to the other groups. Kind of a losing proposition, any way you look at it.

Starcat5, your correct, most Wiccans and a fair percentage of Pagans do infact celebrate the winter Solstice, which starts on the first day of winter, Dec. 21.

Correct.

[...unWARP!!!]

Good evening.

Yay!! The comic is once again rolling along!

Everyone, let's laugh at today's gag!!

I doubt Beltane is physically hurt, but like the crybaby she is, "this is going to be butchery" (Snoppy, 1967, I think)

I drop the arguement. Just pointing out that (AFAIK) she isn't the majority, or even the loud minority. I'd feel better hating her if the point was made clearer (Someone mentioned a movie other than Oz), but I don't want to rekindle a flame war over it.

Same reason as always. It's in people's nature to like/dislike certain aspects of those things that are not real. Why else would "Kirk/Picard" arguments continue to be done to this very day, which are of the same cloth of such argument of liking/disliking the Valkierie/SPARTAN/Alpha and which vehicle from Robotech would win above the other, or comparing Peanut Butter and Milk

Such arguments cannot be explained, cannot be understood by those outside the argument, cannot be measured by any means of sanity. Arguments such as these happen, for a reason nobody knows, most times not even those arguing. You must only step in if you agree or disagree, there is no other way to understand these arguments.

Milk is better than Peanut butter anywho...
