Wouldn't that be the Commie supporter that poisoned his opponent just a few months ago? No idea of the dude's name or the country though anymore, i didn't pay much attention to the whole deal in the first place. But he had like 300% of the population voting for him in all the districts.

If not that, then Saddam was next in line, with 100% of the people voting for him. Afterall, those who voted against him were killed, and a dead person's vote is not counted.

For real elections, I couldn't say. It'd take a Goggle search that's farther reaching than I have time for this morning, I'm about to be late for work :P

More to the point, Hitler actually tricked his way into power. He sent his own party loyalists into the streets to create the terror he blamed on the government. The German people, told by Hitler that the existing government couldn't end the terror even though thet passed oppressive legislation in an effort to stop it, listened to the one man who was offering relief: Adolph Hitler. He was in a position to stop the terror. He was the one causing it! And therefore he could end it! And he promised that he would end it when he was given the power of government!

The people believed Hitler and voted him into office. And once in office, he called in his party loyalists and the terror ended, just like he promised. Hitler appeared to be a hero: he did just what he said he would.

And this concludes this edition of Conspiracy Theory History theatre...

The scary thing is, on the idea of an involiate moral code being important to an American-style Constiutional Democratic Republic...

I'm in full agreement with RH.

Its something I've recently come across: I beleive that people need belief. I should have seen it earlier, people NEED Gods.

But in the same way that people need to believe in Truth, Justice, Mercy..

Else, whats the point?

Thing is, in most religions (As far as I know, which isn't very far), Truth, Justice, and Mercy all come from God. The ideas come from religion.

I argued against taking down the 10 Commandments from Courthouses - because they ARE the basis for the majority of our laws.

Does that mean I agree with the moral code? No. Does that mean I see the need for that moral code? Yes.

Do I believe that religion should be preached in public schools? No. Taught? Yes. Thrown away into some small church and only there acceptable? No. Thrown in everyones face in a door to door hellfire campaign? No.

There's a balance between the two.

Does this post have a point? I'm not certain. Its late, I've been up and active far longer than I should have been.

And tomorow I take the first strike at those I wanted to take potshots at in the very begining of this thread, and say that I don't feel that the student government of my school is the proper medium for political rhetoric and political propaganda.

This is after... let me find the paper.

http://www.midnightspecial.net/material ... olice.html <-- This exact document.

This was found posted on the window of the ICC Office, which is supposed to be indicative of the Clubs of Saddleback College. I felt when I tore this off the window (30 seconds after I realised what it was. I had been napping about 30 seconds before I saw it. Sleepy mind = not cognating quickly.) that I was justified in removing inappropriate material that did not represent the veiw of any legitmate club on campus...

And I was right.

(A copy of what was posted - photocopy - was sent to the VP of Student Services, the school newspaper, and Campus Safety.)

Last straw.

I will not hold back any longer. I'm not Conservative, but then again - I'm not Liberal.

Moderates for Moderation. I dunno. But I won't be holding back my comments when someone abuses his power (The ICC Director, who runs and controls the meeting, ranted TWICE about 30 billion spent on destroying Iraq, and only 30 million spent on helping Tsunami relief, and saying this was WRONG) for a political platform when THERE SHOULD BE NO DISCUSSION OF POLITICS.

And this is just the Inter-Club Council for farking out loud! We're supposed to PUT ON EVENTS, like Earth Day, Halloween, Club Fairs, you know, that kind of stuff. And yet...

Yeah. Sorry. Ranting.
