Before you give up completely on kids cartoons today, check out the Power Puff Girls. :o
Seriously. My nieces wanted to watch an episode while I was baby sitting and i got hooked.
I swear, in "Meet the Beat-Alls", they must've worked every Beatles song ever written into the script. Every episode has at least some funny stuff the kids aren't going to get, but adults can laugh over.

Re, the on topic that really isn't the topic anymore, but is slightly topical.
I doubt Lily will develop tulpas of her own. It would mess up the dynamics of the story line too much. On the other hand, if she could get one of the other 'tulpa father/mothers' to lend a hand, it would make a great practical joke on Ben to make him think she was 'budding like an onion'.
Wouldn't work the other way. It would probably scare her. :(

She has become their stepmom literally, but i regress.

Before things become too inflamatory, maybe we should put on some topical ointment?

Why? Just to salve your conscience? Seems like a rash decision, but that might be rubbing it in. Pretty balmy thing to say.

With all these stinging puns, we may need to apply some topical anesthetic. 8)

I just remembered a show that had puns worse than, or at least as bad as, Rocky & Bullwinkle.

Any o' you other ol' farts out there remember "Beanie & Cecil"?

One episode that sticks so vividly in my mind was the journy to "No-Bikini Atoll" :o to recover "The Resid Jewels". :P

Slurp that one down with your Metamucil! :x

There was Time for Beany with Bob Clampett as puppeteer and Stan Freeburg, Don Messick and Daws Butler doing voices, The first animated series (which I still love) and then the Kricfalusi ones which only aired 5 of the 8 produced before BS&P booted them.

I remember Buffalo Billy, Little Ace from Outer Space, Cowboy Starr, Thunderbolt the Wondercolt, The Boo-birds, and all the bad puns you could stand.

Pity Boomerang won't or can't air them. It would beat that H-B crap any day.

Unfortunately all too well, even "Dishonest John" ...

In retrospect Beanie was kind of scarry, not much personality.

It is interesting that Cecil was for all practical purposes still a hand puppet in the cartoon. You only ever saw his head and neck.

The first TV cartoons I can remeber seeing were Tom and Jerry, Woody Woodpecker, Heckle & Jekyll, Felix the Cat and Mighty Mouse. All drawn in living black and white ...

BTW - a good source of toon info - http://www.toonopedia.com

Come on, kids and flip your lids,
Higher than the moon!
'Cause now it's Beany and Cecil in -
(A whole half-hour!)
Bob Clampett cartooooooon!

Or something like that... It's been a few decades since I heard that song.
But yeah, I remember Cecil the seasick sea serpent. That 'lil ol' mud-sucker!

Obviously, the electroshock-therapy was unsuccessful.

And I think the breaks went:

We've traveled the Earth, for all it's worth
from China to Rangoooooon....
<and now a word from "Sponsorville">
and then our next cartooooooooooon..

<With Cecil doing a one octave gliding scale-up on the "tooooooooooon".>

's'okay Monty.......guess my treatments didn't work either :-?

And.......they're coming to take me away ha ha
they're coming to take me away ho ho, hee hee, ha ha
to the funny farm where I'll be happy to see those nice young men in their clean white coats,
and they're coming to take me away ha haaaaaaaaaaa! :o
