Thanks to them (along with Mr. Peabody, Fractured Fairy Tales, etc.) I grew up to be a bad punster.

And thanks to VHS and DVD I have most of the Rocky and Bullwinkle episodes and I have corrupted my kids (now in college and they have taken them to school).

They sorta did the same thing with "Space Angel". I think the hero's name was "Scott McCloud" and the perennial bad guys were the "Anthenians" with a culture loosely based on the Greeks.

Yupyup, that was his name. Having real moving lips through a cartoon cell was used because it was so (quick) cheap to do.

Fractured Fairytales... Hmmm... Yes, that MIGHT have been what made me a punster. They had enough of them all right, and really bad ones too.

And now I want to run a Google search on "Tobor, the Eighth Man".
Maybe Gigantor as well, or Speed Racer.

And whatever anyone says, Huckleberry Hound and Yogi Bear were both just plain annoying.
So there. After all these years, I've finally said it! I feel cleaner now.

Yeah, besides Ben's childhood friend Frisky, Warhorse, and a few loose cannons that were set off by Ookami there's hardly any examples.

I do suspect that Lily's continued exposure to the Posse will have an effect on her though.

Well, there is also Ben's ex-bosses little 'devil', but I rather suspect that that one doesn't actually exist. As for the ones from the box, those might not count for this specific purpose. We know nothing about their creators except that they went insane...

I think that T.T. was one of the features on Captain Kangaroo wasn't he? I know that it wasn't a stand-alone show until somewhat later and then it was 2-3 episodes in a half-hour time slot on Saturday morning cartoons.

BTW....do you remember "Supercar" and "Fireball XL5"? Both series, all the episodes are available on DVD from A&E. <2 of my all time favorites>

Yupyup. T.T. was the only animated segment of Captain Kangaroo's show. He was later replaced by Lariat Sam who was created by the captain himself. Both were produced by Terrytoons.

The voice of Tom Teriffic was Lionel Wilson who later was CN's Courage the Cowardly Dog's mean tempered cur-mudgeon, Eustace Bagge.

How about the Aesop and Son segment? Seems like Junior always had an alternate moral to the story that always made "Pop" groan.

I used to think that I was probably one of the few "old folks"(46) that enjoyed many of these online comics, but after reading these messages, I'm starting to think I'm just a young pup yet. (No offense to my elders ) I remember Tom Terrific on Captain Kangaroo, Clutch Cargo, Davey & Goliath, etc. One scene I (partially) remember from Fireball XL-5 was the kid (or kids... I don't remember how many or names ) sitting in the pilot seat pretending to be flying when he says "blast off!" and the resident robot (I think his name was "Robot") repeats in his monotone voice "blast off" and hits the start button.

Before you give up completely on kids cartoons today, check out the Power Puff Girls.
Seriously. My nieces wanted to watch an episode while I was baby sitting and i got hooked.
I swear, in "Meet the Beat-Alls", they must've worked every Beatles song ever written into the script. Every episode has at least some funny stuff the kids aren't going to get, but adults can laugh over.

Re, the on topic that really isn't the topic anymore, but is slightly topical.
I doubt Lily will develop tulpas of her own. It would mess up the dynamics of the story line too much. On the other hand, if she could get one of the other 'tulpa father/mothers' to lend a hand, it would make a great practical joke on Ben to make him think she was 'budding like an onion'.
Wouldn't work the other way. It would probably scare her.
