Post by Maxgoof »

Wait, wait, wait....

Did I just see what I think I saw?

Did the posse just all do their *poit* thing....and take Ben WITH THEM???

[...unWARP!!!]

Good evening.

I had the feeling somebody was going to warp: Piff was going to scamper all around Lobo like a feral ferret, he would try to shoot him, miss repeatedly, and Lily would go feral on him.

I don't know how the Posse was able to warp Ben with them, but something big is going to happen now.

I'd guessed a distraction theme too, but with Velvet wandering up to the robber and doing a "cute three-year-old" act. (Hi! Whatcha doing? I'm fwee years old today!) while Gunther pops in behind and does what Gunther does.
Oh, well. Ralph's idea is fun too. I just kinda wish Ben had gone "BAMF!"

Good evening.

In the Schlockverse dream, the Posse was able to warp weapons along with them. I guess they needed everybody to bring Ben along.

You know there is a problem with just teleporting from one place to another that should be addressed. As Nightcrawler said in the movie X-Men2 that he can only teleport where he can see. Which makes sence cause of the dangers of popping in area that might end up killing them or causeing embarrassment like for instance appearing in the ladies restroom. So it would stand to reason that Bens apparisional freinds should make sure they know where there gonna pop up especailly cause lily is held by gunpoint and them landing up in the wrong place will end up risking Lilly's death...[sory bout the typos]

From a physics point of veiw on very interesting option would be to warp the whole group to a position with the center of mass directly ABOVE Lobo... Just putting Bens feet a few feet above his head would do the trick. Raising the center of mass another few feet (how high ARE the ceiling in the lobby?) would increase the effect. The problem is that there is more than one bank robber, and Ben might twist an ankle or something.

Hey, no sweat. Richard Reed aka Mr. Fantastic has a device that does that
sub-space teleportation that scans before YOU land.

Good evening.

All may not be lost. The Posse can still grab Lily and warp her out of there, and come back for Ben. The warping/unwarping will leave the bad guys stunned for a moment, and since all they have to do is unwarp, grab Ben and warp, there are no sudden moves which can trigger a shootout.

They can get all the hostages out of there with that method, perhaps.

This might explain why in Ben's dream Velvet could NOT warp out of that machine's clutches: *it was a dream*.

Ben I can understand. The posse has a strong bond with him. Warping Lily is a little more iffy, but at least she knows about them. As for the other hostages...

If Lobo suddenly starts losing his leverage, he's likely to assume someone outside's pulling a fast one and try to make them stop by carrying out his threat. The best hostage rescue is to get them all at one time.

Of course this assumes the posse doesn't have to "prep" for that kind of stunt.

A better idea might be to "warp" away the bullets from the guns (and any other explosives, knives, blackjacks, brass knuckles... let's bring Lobo's gang down to the armaments of the numerically greater hostages). 8)

I beleive that, at the very least they have to be touching the object in question. A bomb (like on the vault door, or place such that it would kill many of the hostages) would be a valid target. Trying to leave with a gun requires grabbing it, and might tend to bring the person holding it along for the ride. I think Gunther or Morty would be the only ones who would even attempt such a feat... for the moment...
Also, remembering that at least one of the police officers has some supernatural abilities of his own, I wonder if the officers negative reaction might be a bit more than the general police distaste for amatuers messing things up... might Lobo be a bit 'above average' himself?

And just how spiffy is this officer anyway? Does his sargent know about his wings? Not that they would be THAT big a deal, I mean, sure, he has the ability to catch suspects fleeing on foot in the open. But since he perfers to keep it a secret evidently, and since police helocopters aren't that rare, I hardly see it as being a decisive advantage... I mean they have him passing out BOLO posters instead of assigning him to SWAT full time.

And Gunther was mighty quick with
that mallet... extra-large for those
super-hard heads.

But will the rest of the posse try
to save the hostages as well
as Ben and Lilly?

Those crooks are a desparate
bunch, AND Ookami is likly to
start killing any time... unless
SOMEONE guides the hostages
out as fast as they can.

I'll just stay posted...

The posse and the detective
don't need anyone else jumping
into the fray.

So what's next? Monty getting one of them to surrender by playing "pall of doom"? 8)

Still too many crooks loose inside. And we've yet to see what Morty, Piff, Slick and Zoot are doing. I'm sure Ralph has lots of ideas. 8)
