Bwahahahahahahah! Now THAT was cool!

Now that was a SUREFIRE way to put that bigoted old fart
in his place! He can't POSSIBLY explain THAT!!!

And to top it off... Ben didn't have to raise either his voice
or his hand to the crusty old codger to shut his mouth BUT GOOD!

Gotta love grandpas double standard. It's OK for him to threaten Ben, but when Ben threatens him back it's "call the police I'm being threatened". Loved seeing the old coot get his comeupance.

Hello...

All new to the comic... read trough it in only three days.. I need a life :P

Anyway... YAY for Ben.
That old fart certainly deserved that dose of shock. Lets just hope it doesn't result in a heart attack.

[...unWARP!!!]

Good evening.

Welcome, LadyCrow!! You remind me of someone.....

Perhaps what could follow is Ben telling that speciesist just how much Lily and he love each other, followed by Sheldon giving Lily a transcript of their exchange, which Lily would give to the rest of the family, now that they're all together.

Maybe Ben is hoping that if he freaks the bigot enough, he won't want to have anything to do with him ever again, and will keep his distance...

hehehe

thanks for the welcome Jam.
And who do I remind you of?
I am curious now.

I do hope that bigot old granpa gets the idea and scrams.
Maybe he would think that his alzheimer is acting up :P

Good evening.

Well, LadyCrow, you remind me of another very nice lady whose signature was the following:

Quantum materiae materietur marmota monax si marmota monax materiam possit materiari?

Whoa!

If the threat was averted like that, rendering the elder
Feldspar shocked into silence, the settelement and his being
straightened out was as easy as pie, NO ONE would DARE
try to buffalo THIS bear.

I haven't laughed this hard since then.

That's right, but gramps was trying it first... and failed. MISERABLY.

That's another reason bigots will end up facing their comeuppance.

Which is similar to what happened on Gene Catlow- 02/13/2004...

Gotta love the nice, shiney, and most importantly, LARGE toothy grin in the last panel.

My oonly question now is how Lily's going to react

And, once this is done, off to Ben's parents;)

Help!

Argh. Obviously y'all are able to see the latest comic -- but I can't find it anywhere on Keenspace. When I look at http://utlt.keenspace.com/ , I still see the comic for Sunday, January 25, 2004. So where are you finding it?

It all depends on whether she is still nearby. If she isn't then Ben's best bet is to keep it a 'just between us' thing. Women tend to freak about stuff like their grandpa and boyfriend threatening each other.

EHEHEH!!

Got to LOOOOVE that fangy grin.
I really hope this tips Grampa off to BUTT out and leave Ben and Lily to decide if they want to stay together or not.
I really want to know how Lily is going to take this thu.

And JAM.
Umm.. don't understand what that signature means.
I am not all that good in latin.

LadyCrow: I believe Jam was checking to see if you WERE that person he was refering to. Since you did not recognize the quote, the answer is apparently "no".

...and today's comic was quite smashing, don't you agree?

try going to the site and hitting the fresh button.

To fix Internet Explorer so that never happens again , goto Tools-->Internet Option-->General tab. Click Setting in the Temporary Internet Files. When the new window comes up, select the "Every visit to the page." Click ok. Click ok again. done.

I'm not sure where the problem is, but when I tried to go to Keenspace.com, it said something about FTPing it.... no clue.. but it had a link to the addys for the comics. I found UTLT (oddly, same as before, but, hey, what the heck.). Copy, paste, and whoop-de-do! I got it. So... thats what I did. you may want to try typing in your addy bar "utlt.keenspace.com" with out the HTTP:// bit.... see what happens. Thats worked for me too.... Hope I helped.

Well, good thing "Gramps" was a lot less dangerous than he was pretending. If he really was willing to commit murder, there's nothing preventing his doing so. That's why it's not good to let someone like that know you're armed. If they know you can shoot back, they can still just hide behind a tree with a rifle until you get within a couple of hundred yards and then...

Better to let them come at you with ax-handles and baseball bats, and THEN let them find out you're armed.

[...unWARP!!!]

Good evening.

Sure, but will his friends believe him when he tell them about the disappearing friends?

And here, Ben finally shows his fangs again, which haven't been seen since the Virginity Story.

Also, it looks like Ben *does* know the verse "A soft answer turns away wrath", and obviously, "soft" doesn't necessarily mean "pacifist".

And about the Latin quote, Lady crow, think "woodchuck".

Actually, I think he used them to threaten Ricco's life when he started dating the boss's niece.

Pursuing an opening.

Of course the really good follow up to this would be if he could exploit this opening to do some good on gramps' THINKING as opposed to just how he acts in this one particular instance...

I will also note that Ralph left himself a smidgin of an opening to pursue this plot line, even along violent lines if he should so chose. If gramps gets up the gumption to admit this incident to his 'friends' then they might think that they can come up with some 'magic' of their own to counteract Ben's 'spirit allies'. I would say that gramps might do this himself, but I don't think he is 'real' enough about the religion that (generally) goes along with his supposed 'heritage' to think along those lines.

P.S. I am not claiming to have any sort of knowledge worth talking about concerning Native American religions.
