Good evening.

"Put out"? Is that the complete phrase, or did Petunia mean "put out the trash"?

Either way, I sense a major confrontation between the young pumas...

Until next time, remember:

Good evening.

The only trash that I can see is standing next to Lily, smoking a cigarette. This would definately give a new definition to the term "cat fight."

American-English slang

Though the phrase probably started out with some other meaning entirely, as in a shopkeeper putting out his wares to attract a buyer..."put out" in this usage means (approximately) "have sex".

Petunia is not a polite feline.

Not polite at all, my precious.

Petunia may only have a low opinion of Ben, but it's starting to sound like Grandpa isn't the only one with a species prejudice.

Either that or, it was for the sheer fact that mama didn't tell grandma her darling grandaughter was dating someone

I ran into that one....

Grrr...

Good evening.

This is one of the few times I've felt like jumping into the strip (as my jaguar avatar) and tell a character a thing or three (or maybe pull a few felinesque retorts).

It looks like Lily just might handle this, though. I wonder how much more she'll put up with while someone insults her man.

Lily should be able to deal with this. Remember that time with the "what's his name?) employee on the workplace? http://utlt.keenspace.com/d/20001227.html

Lots of possibilities...

It could be that Petunia is feeling jealous that her cousin got such a nice guy - I'm kinda guessing that Petunia's men have been less than wonderful, there.
Or she might just be poking at Lily just a little, to see if she's really "attached" to Ben.
Or maybe she's always like this, and her relatives are used to it.
Or she's been recently dumped or otherwise has had a bad week... Y'never know.
Of course, she could be in need of a motherly talking-to. Or a cousinly thrashing.
Fun stuff, guessing games!
