well, I think one of the prerequisits of being a good DM (GM?) is being a good storyteller.

Okay... So the Baron thinks nothing of having his palace staff decimated as well as having several arrows embedded in his flesh, enjoys high tea with a dragon, served by the undead... and now he's going to tell our heros a tale that HE considers terrifying.

This might be fun...
