Loved the parallel with "A Birth of a Nation." A movie, while hailed for it's technical achevements which got it a Presadent's thumb up, It's portrayal of African Americans and making the KKK the heros of the story, deamonized it's director who never mades a good film after. I think he died 8 years later. Isn't it great the trivia you can pick up when you're bored out of your skull?

Actually, Intolerance, a movie with essentially the opposite message of Birth of a Nation was made by D.W. Griffith soon after it. It wasn't nearly the box office success as BON, but it's still critically acclaimed.[/i]
