Art imitating life, I suspect

Post by Mike Fang »

Well, after reading that little synopsis, who wants to bet Ralph got the inspiration from an ad for that movie Syriana? I remember watching that thing and thinking to myself "Politicians, government-planned kidnapping, military incursions, all for the sake of acquiring oil...oh yeah, this smells like an anti-Iraqi War movie." Guess I can stick George Clooney on my list of "Movie Stars Who's Movies I No Longer Patronize". Right next to Tom Cruise and John Travolta.

Never even saw the movie. Never even HEARD of it.

Think that synopsis is outrageous? Even while I was writing it, I got word that the plot of a popular TV show currently included a plot by a militant CHRISTIAN organization to frame a peaceful MUSLIM community for a terrorist act in order to start a holy war.

The "reality based community" is beyond satire. Or even exaggeration.

Never said it was outrageous. All I said was that synopsis and the movie I'd heard of sounded very familiar and I thought you might've gotten the idea for your comic from it.

Greetings Mr. Fang and welcome to the asylum, er forum. It's nice to see another new face around here. Please feel free to visit sub basement 17-g and refrigeratorhenge for snacks.

Apparently the current sentiment is against feeding Solidus anything that is not heavily laced with valium...

Oh, and if this is going to be going anywhere near where I think it will, here's the standard issue ceramic impregnated asbestos suit.

Welcome, again! :D

*hefts the asbestos suit onto his shoulder* Heh, thank you. With my rep and my acid-coated tongue, I'll probably need this sooner or later.

Oy, I see you on Ralph's Live Journal so much, I never noticed you slipping in here. Welcome aboard.
I'm lost. I've gone to find myself. If I should return before I get back, please ask me to wait. Thanks.

Heya, Mike! I've seen your tales around, good work.

On the N&T side of things, you're just in time to see the fewmets impact the rotary oscillator. These kids play with dynamite for kicks...and now I've got the "Dukes of Hazzard" theme song running through my noggin for some COMPLETELY UNRELATED reason I'm sure...

Jus' some good ol' tods
Raised on down at th' farm,
Malarkey County's sons,
Had their momma on the run
Since the day they was born...
