Do you feel totally outnumbered and out gunned by a bunch of half crazed (half?) pyromanical furballs? :(

Don't fret....we aren't gonna burn the place to the ground.....buuuuttt we might have to re-sod the side yard when we're done.

Now....if I can just get a-hold of Cpl Bo....we can REALLY get this party rockin' an' rollin'. :o :D

Please stick around M'dear.....we's a-gonna have a BLAST!!!

S'aaruuk
*Was in the middle of a very fast stride when S'aaruuk's hand on her shoulder pulls her up short. Loses balance due to the suddenly halted momentum, and almost falls. Once finished flailing her arms to catch her balance, sighs and turns head to face S'aaruuk.*

Outnumbered and outgunned by crazy pyromaniacs... you know, I hadn't actually put it in those words yet, but thanks, it makes me feel so much better. :P

And with this group... you expect repairs to be limited to the side yard? Right. I almost - almost - would stick around just to see how you managed that one.

Of course there's going to be a blast (or more than one of them), but the question of whether or not I want to be nearby at the time remains.

Actually, Wayfarer, your best tactic would be to join forces with one of us.

It's probably Solidus. We've seen that already. 8)

you probably already know she's not gonna want anything to do with that crate. or anything else that is suspect of being excessively destructive for that matter.

now I'm wondering, which would be scarrier, if it does have Solidus in there, or if it DOESN'T...

hmmmm...

So I've been told.
But no! NO! It's a matter of principle (not to mention lack of interest in explosions)! The A(M)F and I will do all we can here, and when there is nothing more to be done, we'll flee. We happen to like caves and the exploration of various universes, anyway (especially when the latter take place by means of colorful rings in a certain drowsy forest where nothing ever happens... which, come to think of it, would be a rather good retreat in and of itself)*.

I must applaud shyal here for being absolutely correct here...

I do find your suggestion amusing, Kerry, but somehow I don't think it very likely...
...or maybe that's just wishful thinking. Because if it was Solidus, that could suggest a Solidus/CasVeg alliance :o ...
No, I'm not even going to think about it. *need a squinting-eyes-shut smiley*

*Okay, who'll be the first to know the reference? :D

There's more than one way for a maniac to wreak havoc. Kerry and Shyal aren't even close.

I have a tendency to root for the underdog. You seem to be having trouble keeping up with the pyromaniacs. I sympathize. So, let me rephrase what I said earlier:

Would you allow me to join the A(M)F?

Okay, first off, I've got to point out the irony of you first talking about wreaking havoc and then asking to join the A(M)F... I just find that really amusing. :D

That aside, though, I truly do appreciate the offer. It's very kind. But I've gotta ask, would you really want to join the group that's dedicated to resisting (or at least protesting) the generally dangerous explosion- and fire-focused destruction plans on the forums?

I'll grant you, we don't really put up much of a fight. (We do, after all, know our limits. :D ) But we provide contrast. :) And hey, we plot pesteriness, whether or not much of it is actually seen around here. ('Course, just because it isn't seen, doesn't mean the groundwork isn't being built...)

Besides, even if we aren't quite keeping up with the pyromaniacs, we are arranging things such that when we decide to retreat, the pyromaniacs will not be able to keep up with us... [/i]

forest fahrs and brush fahrs can travel much faster then people (I suspect even furry people) can run (that they can does not mean that they do)

and you know I'm only playing around here, tempting ideas that in the end are pointless anyway, if there is one thing I've found out about various plots and organizations it is this

there is no one man made organization that cannot be broken down and disolved, reguardless of the organization's intent.

I let sol and his gang have their fun because in the end, a clever plan and quick action can render most any and all overpowering scheems of destruction or domination both futile and benign, I play because I already know they are either harmless or don't really mean us any harm

(though I can't say I blame anyone for keeping a safe distance away) :D

And whoever said that running was the only means of retreat?

'Course I know it's play, and for more than just you. It's just more interesting if I pretend that I don't. :D

course the speed of the fire I suppose would depend on the ambient wind somewhat

can you magine the speed of a brush fahr being followed by a tornado. I'm not sure which would be more damaging...

thank goodness noone here can control the weather to that degree of accuracy.

I imagine it would be close to. . .0.

A tornado is a massive updraft. The fire would spiral back toward the tornado. The tornado itself could become an impressive pillar of flame, and anything between it and the fire would be cremated (assuming the 500 km/hr winds didn't just blow it out).

ok, so what if the fire weren't heading outwards but inwards, surrounding the area the tornado already was?

either way, high speed winds, lots of oxygen, plenty of fuel, and a little luck and you've got a massively fast (and probably hot) fire going.

If any of this is supposed to be suggesting a scenario in which I could not retreat from the pyromaniacs, I'll just mention that it doesn't phase me too much, as my plans involve being able to disappear instantly...

If not, so sorry for the interruption. Do carry on. :)

(I'm not even going to bother protesting this one... though you might possibly do well to wonder why... *mysterious plotting grin*)

no no, my mind is such that it loves putting two and two together, even if it doesn't like the answer, I was mostly just thinking of fire and wind for their own sake.

You've just described fire storm....or more precisely a fire voretx. I saw a massive one just after a 3-bird napalm strike in VN. The spinning vortex climbed to over 1000ft and lasted for almost 2 minutes. I was over a mile away, could feel the heat strongly, and it had the most eerie "howling" roar I've ever heard. It wasn't the F-4's, they were alread gone and the sound is completely different. Not like the "freight-train" or "jet engine" roar of a regular tornado, this thing had an actual tone to it.....and the fire itself on the ground was nearly yellow-white in it's intensity.....burning trees and huge pieces of flaming debris was being sucked up into this thing and I could even feel the self generating wind it was creating as it pulled more and more air into itself. It was incredible....facinating, terrifying, and in a strange way, beautiful all at the same time.......and nothing could get away from it. And then it was gone....just like that......and with it about 3/4 square mile of jungle.

Unbelievable sight... :o
