[...unWARP!!!]

Good evening.

As Someone Who Is Not From West Virginia, could someone please define that phrase? The closest phrase I've heard that sounds like that is "give 'em blood 'n vinegar", from the Redwall novels (spoken just before going to battle)

Odd, I thought that porcupines would instinctively know how to kiss without their quills getting in the way.

Not being from WV, I still know what it means. Basically, it means that the person has moxie ... um, I mean jumption ... dang, this is harder than I thought.

Actually the "correct" phrase is "pi$$ & vinegar"......tho' lots of folks clean it up and say 'spit' instead. But Mjolnir is right....it means that ya got a lotta guts, moxie....etc.

spunk and energy, and the guts to use it.

but it seems to be more of an "extroverted" term and being "interverted" makes it foreign to me.

Wonder if they are mixing up spit and polish with pi$$ and vineger anyway its nice to see her mom supporting her and hopefully she can go back on as the " new " Zelda with an attitude adjustment.

Hmmm I wonder if when she first goes back on if Gill would call in that might be just the thing to bring back her gumption , giving Gill a piece of her mind might just overcome any shyness she still has.

And it also is the name of the oldest cola product made in the US "Moxie Cola" founded in 1884. It was touted that drinking it might (the keword here is might) give the drinker the aforementioned traits. The company coined the word and its meaning.

And that is our useless fact for today! :D
