Good evening.
She's just about Thelma's age, right? First impressions make me think she's a 10-year old.
Now let's see how she got the job...

Now that Gilly's stupidity has exposed "Belle".....Any bets that Zelda's anonymity is now blown and so's her career as a DJ? I'm wondering if her anonymity was also primary to her new outgoing personality? The sexy person she's always wanted to be could come out on the air. Now Gilly's blown that to bits.
Gilly needs to get his arrogant butt kicked so far up between his shoulder blades that he'll have to open his collar to crap.....that and I hope the station prosecutes to the fullest extent possible.

Is Zelda "Belle", or is she just the engineer with Belle on the other side of the window?
Based on my experience in radio back in the '70s, unless Zelda is working at such a small station that she is both the broadcast engineer and the on-air personality (not easy, since you have to have the proper FCC tech license to sit at the controls), she's just the broadcast engineer, with Belle sitting behind the window in the broadcast studio.
Just my $0.02.

Hmmmmm....you may be right....on second look, I don't see the usual suspended mic in front of her as is normal for every other broadcast studio I've ever been in.....and there doesn't seem to be a mic on Zelda's headset either, or on the console.
But still, Gilly needs his butt kicked and prosecuted for trespass at the VERY least......better yet....have Zelda fill his butt full of quills and THEN prosecute!!

I don't know, when a man is smitten by a woman they have a tandancy to do outstandingly stupid things just to get attention....
"Are you sure we should be doing 120 on this road?"
"Awww, c'mon! I drive 120 all the time (in Gran Turismo) I handle cruves like those coming up all the time in "my" 99 Subaru Impreza rally edition!"
"But this is your dad's 87 chevy blazer!"
"It's all wheel drive!"
Albeit, Gilly doesn't have the excuse of being 16 and stupid...

There actually is a mic on her headset. It's hanging over her right shoulder with her head turned.
Considering how small a county this is, I'm betting that she's both DJ and Engineer. She seems like the type that could handle both jobs at once.

I don't think her anonymity is blown just yet. After all there are already people at the station who know who she is. The real question is can Gilly be... persuaded (by the threat of being prosecuted for criminal treaspass)... to keep his yap shut.

Gilly's a concieted, self-righteous political pundit. So, yes, he does.

I wonder if he has already had the crap kicked out of him. Look how much thinner he now is than in old N&T strips when he was downright round.

That's what I'm thinking. Besides, that little boom on the headset wouldn't have the fidelity needed for broadcast quality nor does it have shock mounts to keep vibration noise out.
Small stations? There was one in Flint, MI callsign WAMM. The building was about the size of a two car garage, and it had a 500 watt Gates transmitter that was the size of a large refrigerator laid on its side. On a good day it would almost cover Genesee County. (15mi radius) It would almost be completly forgetable except that sometime in the 50's an unknown DJ named Casey Kasem worked there.

Any mistakes in the technical appearance of the station, please chalk up to the author's inexperience with radio stations.

Sorry, I didn't mean to pick nits. Besides, I've seen stranger arrangements of equipment and personnel. I student engineered at a station that was mostly obsolete hardware and donations from other radio stations. Rube Goldberg would be proud of our cart and tape system.

Honestly, it anit much differnt then when I worked at a radio station. Granted, it was a small town one AM station, but still it looks much the same.

I did a little bit of small-town radio and the setup wasn't anything fancy, either, about like what Belle is using. And this was pre-computers, so I suppose it could be even simpler now, with computers to do most of the regulating of the equiment.
